When the Tigers have a second year contract option in the club's favour, he doesn't have a choiceDo you really think he would take that when there are clubs like the Dragons, Titans and Bulldogs in need of halves?

It’s a mutual optionWhen the Tigers have a second year contract option in the club's favour, he doesn't have a choice
No they don't: he's been released. He would have to ask for that, though - the club can't just do it unilaterally without, as you say, paying him out. Lomax is basically backing himself to get a better deal (or at least one he prefers) elsewhere. It's certainly a gamble.Wouldn't they have to cover some of the 800k for the next couple of years?
I can't imagine anyone else is going to pay him that, and this is why we were stuck with Nofa. We had to offer him a payout to get him out.
It's the exact opposite of entitled: he's backing himself to do better elsewhere, abandoning the security of a guaranteed deal to get what he can based on his skills. Entitled would be staying there on 800k and demanding to play in his preferred position or cruising on the wing.Leaving $800k a year with a guaranteed wing spot and a coastal lifestyle? It seems a bit entitled considering he hasn't established himself as a rep player.
Yeah time will tell. I'll just say one more thing at this stage, though: I'd be extraordinarily suprised if a club that's desperate for a half prioritises squeezing another 100k out of the Tigers. I keep saying this: 500k is nothing for a first grade half. All it takes is one club to think Sullivan can be that (and, again, he'll only be 23 at the start of next season) and we have the leverage. If anything, we should be dealing from strength - start by asking what they're going to give us.agree to disagree

I think we'll have to chip in circa $250K bc other clubs will know we're desperate to upgrade the likes of Galvin etc and they'll smell blood.
in saying that -- i hope you're right and i'm wrong.
lets see.
I would say he knows what the other offers are if he's done this.No they don't: he's been released. On the fence, depending on how much and how long the Dragons will contribute. Really only any sort of priority if WT have no decent goal kicking options.
I can see Parra offering Matto for Lomax, which I think dragons would take. Otherwise I think he'll end up at by the roosters given all the backs they're losing.
I'd much rather the current situation of Bud/Fainu as the second-choice halves rather than Brandon Wakeham. Sezer hasn't got years left in him; even if Bud is a backup off the bench it's still a good option to have a genuine half in reserve.Too early to be writing Bud off in my opinion. I agree he looks down the pecking order, but surely too early to call it.
lol you assume he’s a first grade half …Yeah time will tell. Disagree. The Dragons have looked after him and no one would argue his loss will weaken their team especially in the current market. He's put his own interests before that of the team. I also question whether any player would give up that amount without having a contract on the table. This is even more the case with the $ he would want. Clearing cap space to buy him alone would be a challenge at short notice ...............It's the exact opposite of entitled: he's backing himself to do better elsewhere, abandoning the security of a guaranteed deal to get what he can based on his skills. MosesOut of interest…who is Galvin’s agent? And please don’t say Moses …. 😖
It’s amazing why these kids pick the managers who are complete grubs.Moses
Off to the slugs I feel , deal probably already done for $ 750 k and a chance to play centre in a team up the top end of the comp , not the bottomLeaving $800k a year with a guaranteed wing spot and a coastal lifestyle? You can call anything entitled if that's what you want to see. The bottom line is he's backed himself to do better elsewhere. I'm not calling him a hero for that - some might see it as greedy - but it's not what I think entitlement looks like. Besides, the Dragons didn't have to agree to release him; they didn't for Ben Hunt, for instance. Seems to me that it takes two to tango.Disagree. Everytime Olam takes a carry he hits it up from the back fence, we havnt had that in years I love him.Got to say:
I was wrong about Sezer. Totally wrong.
I had thought he would turn up like many returning EPL players. Unable to cope with League, heck I actually liked him when he was here with the Titans etc.
The guy has been outstanding for us. Sure not as good a halfback as say Reynolds/mm/Cleary/DCE... But an actual halfback and a better fit then Hastings and others we have had.
I was dead set right about Justin Olam.
Man the guy is a joy to watch. $450k from Melbourne for a GUN center.
We truly needed an upgrade on our backline and Olam just fits the bill. So good to watch him play.
You see how under-appreciated Api is, giving good ball to all the players around him and so few make use of it.
Api sees Olam -> try time.
Such a difference with these two in our squad
Next year i would have. 7.Luai, 6.Galvin.I'd much rather the current situation of Bud/Fainu as the second-choice halves rather than Brandon Wakeham. Sezer hasn't got years left in him; even if Bud is a backup off the bench it's still a good option to have a genuine half in reserve.
