How many could-have-beens are there running around in KOE or the bush. I have two nephews of pretty much identical ability, one has played SOO and is a much admired captain of his club, the other has a history of excuses and bad hammy's ( but mostly laziness ). The most important ingredient for an NRL footballer is desire. All the ability in the world translates to nothing without desire.

Yes that's true talent is the most common thing in the world but self discipline is very hard to find

The Journos keep describing Latrell's thuggery as "brain fade" while Latrell himself calls it "brain snap". Does anyone know the difference? In either case, should Latrell be on some kind of medication?

None of those are correct, you need a brain to start with for any of that to be the case.

Latrell is self-destructing, and his anger is getting worse. Good footy players show controlled aggression and resilience in tough situations. They don't let frustration or anger affect their play.

Latrell has been suspended for kicking Garner, breaking Manu's cheekbone, elbowing Tyson Frizell in the head, and now Shaun in the jaw. None of these were accidental, there was malice.

The guy is a grub, and I'm glad we dodged that bullet.

Repeat offender, should have got 6, at least. Grade A goose with a chip on his shoulder only matched by Walker and Mundine.
The coach is next to go , has lost the dressing room for bending over backwards to cater to those clowns.
It’s a pity coz the captain is as honest and decent living human as you would ever want, and South’s to his bootlaces. Gives 100% every game.

I think unfortunately LM is being used by the Aboriginal leaning political heirachy as a tool, instead of just being able to just be himself and play footy. There seems to be a lot of anger and resentment in that young man.
We know that when he just plays, there is heaps of skill and natural talent. I hope he finds good people to give him some sound advice.
Or maybe he just doesn’t like the Māori, first Manu and now Johnson.

Does it make sense for the NRL/Fox to keep on wheeling him out as an exemplary ”role model”? There was no contrition in his apology, explaining his onfield behaviour as a ”brain snap.”
I’m a second nations citizen so my opinion may not carry any weight in such matters, but seriously…if Latrell does community work at Moree, Katherine, Alice Springs will it improve the lives of his First Nation brothers and sisters?
Is Latrell a role model, a leader? Or is he a talented NRL player?

Trell to me looks unfit and under done. So he can’t compete at the highest level and is getting found out and frustrated. Souths playing busted also doesn’t help.

Iam not making excuses for Trell at all and the NRL should be coming down a lot harder on him. Maybe he needs a new environment but if he was a real champion he would excel in any environment. Certainly needs to see a very good head man.

I personally think he has been allowed to take short cuts all his career and now he is getting found out
