That would make sense, does our club have any common sense ?Is Kepoa our only útility'capable for covering backline as well as backrow? If so we need another one- hopefully a bit better
We spent the money for what he brings, a player who hates losing and very vocal on the field. You always see him barking orders to his teammates you don’t see that often from our boys. Api and Galvin sometimes do but not as much as he would. He would want to make a change to the club culture yes he wasn’t cheap but not many halves would be.So we have spent 1.2 million dollars per season to find out if a player is a capable first receiver/play maker sounds good.
Plenty of times for our opponentsHas he ever been a matchwinner for us?
I understand we were virtually backed into a corner and really had no choice other than to sign him, his record speaks for itself and he’s better than what we currently rely have, but I maintain he’s just an average player without any quality around him.We spent the money for what he brings, a player who hates losing and very vocal on the field. So Turuva isn’t quality? Olam (although older) still isn’t the best Centre we have at the club? Bula still for now our best Fullback (although he will have a challenge to keep it from next year) our weakest points in the backline is wing and centre, not so much our forward pack they’re doing their job most weeks it’s our halves and backs letting us down mainly our centres and wingers Bula and Olam are the only players that have a starting spot in next years first grade lineup that played today, everyone else has to earn it and like I said with 3 more spots to fill wait to see who takes them up before writing off next year.I understand we were virtually backed into a corner and really had no choice other than to sign him, his record speaks for itself and he’s better than what we currently rely have, but I maintain he’s just an average player without any quality around him.
I thought Papali’i, Bula and Olam all went ok today in an overall poor performance. So Turuva isn’t quality? Olam (although older) still isn’t the best Centre we have at the club? I wouldn’t mind another edge forward but given the lack of backline depth that’s more a priority for me for signings next year. We may still offload a couple players but that’s still wait and see. Bateman and Ice with a good 13 or Bateman, Samuela and Ice at 13 could be our backrowers lock for next year. But like I said let’s wait until we fill up the squad or release some of our current squad.I thought Papali’i, Bula and Olam all went ok today in an overall poor performance.
Galvin and Sam Fainu are still both a work in progress, but showing plenty of promise.
Lack of punch on the edges and flanks is killing us.
Yes, he has almost zero football IQ, unfortunately we also have Naden who is even lower. Cannot believe the decisions he makes in attack and defence.Staines has to have the lowest football iq of any football player. Bombed two tries and made a shocking read for Newcastles third try.
Really need to upgrade the outside backs positions immediately.
Cause Naden played in his position.. centreYes, he has almost zero football IQ, unfortunately we also have Naden who is even lower. Cannot believe the decisions he makes in attack and defence.
God knows how these two combined for the try last week.
We have plenty of leaders.Nor a leader
True The Chad, but don’t forget the players you mentioned are not just big, they are also very quick.Bradman Best, Cobbo, Lomax, Creighton.....all these guys are big, strong athletes.
A majority of our backs are either small or rail thin.
We could do with the addition of bigger, robust athletes to match up better.
For that, guys like Cotric make sense. I'm far more confident of Cotric tackling Best than Charlie Staines. This is why Doueihi could fit as well. WE simply do not have the big, hard to handle athlete's out wide.
Chad.. off the field. We have plenty of leaders.
We also are not strong enough in tackles, unable to create through sheer speed or strength, get manhandled in the ruck etc, etc, etc.
You can be a small player in the NRL. But there are no teams I can think of with as large a collection of inferior sized athletes in the competition.
Yep, they are. But you don't see Canberra or St George, who don't have overly stacked rosters, struggle every week to defend or create the same way the Tigers do. I think we just have too many small/slow athletes, or more accurately- not enough of these NRL style uber athletes.True The Chad, but don’t forget the players you mentioned are not just big, they are also very quick.
