Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

My mate you who told me the Bennett was going back to the Bunnies and I posted here before anyone said anything about Bennett going back told me the Bunnies are after Bud just $$$ the sticking point
I said this to my mate last week, Souths might be an option for us to offload Bud, and him playing ok on the weekend helps us as well

Would be a good move for both parties, surely Benji and Wayne can thrash it out.

I tend to agree. The imports set the level of the bar! If the juniors are good enough, they will overcome these imports. They will know exactly what they need to do to oust them.

We are talking of young hopefuls in their early 20's expecting to earn half a million dollars a year and not work their arse off to get it? In a job they love!

Reality is if they feel they are good enough and want to set themselves up [and family] for life they must make sacrifices and knuckle down to overcome the obstacles put in front of them. Unfortunately it may be at another club, so we really need to be able to identify and retain the best.
This is where our board, management and coaches must show their best strengths and judgement.
The club signed Jerome Luai in the off season. Result? Galvin & family had a hissy fit & needed assurances that there was a future for him in the club.

The club has made the decision that they are a DEVELOPMENT CLUB. They are not going to put obstacles in the way of the young players they hold in high regard.

in a Members email Richo's said that...

"We will be continually moulding the squad to fit Benji's vision..."

so maybe we aren't done recruiting? certainly hope not.
He said multiple times at the start of this year that the roster needs a fair bit of "Massaging" to fit Benji's vision.
Those statements were after parting ways with Nofa, and since then we have only signed Turuva for next year.

There is no way that signing 1 outside back is all he meant by that, anyone thinking we are done for next year isn't actually thinking.

Edit: We also have 2 - 3 (depending on Stef) roster spots open for next year with a very inexperienced 20 - 28 with less than 20 games between them. We aren't going to fill an already inexperienced roster with more inexperience.

Reserves:
20. Da Silva - Hooker
21. Matamua - Lock

Depth:
22. L.Lualilii - Wing
23. Feledy - Centre
24. Saukuru - Centre
25. Miller - Prop
26. Sukkar - Second Row
27. K. Laulilii - Lock
28. Faagutu - Lock

Sound about right all the above , we def need to go shopping and also do some more house work .
outs - Seyfart , Bud , Twall and 5 or 6 from reserve grade

Twal and Seyfarth aren't the ones to replace at this point in time and I'm not sure why people don't see that. We have 2 roster spots left, ideally we can bring them help.. not replace them

I wouldn’t be dropping them from the squad … it would be great though if they aren’t automatic Top 17 selections every week ..: need a couple of new players so they get moved down the pecking order

In reality I haven't placed huge raps of Richo so far, slightly due to his business focus, but the message he had today was really strong to be honest. The only chirp I will add is surrounding the "We have an excellent coaching staff led by Benj", We might need a dedicated offensive coach, as that is our glaring issue. We aren't conceding 30 points week in week out anymore, which is a testament to the improvements that Morris has made so far in his short tenure at our club. But we need urgent and efficient change in our attack
