Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

If we want Hunt .. we should just after him .. we don't have to give the Sharks any player .. the Sharks said he could go to market. He's a great destructive 20 to 25 minute a half player .. bring him on half way through the 1st half .. then sit him down after half time and bring on him with 20 minutes to go in the 2nd half .. typical Royce Hunt game of footy .. !! He's seems to have a big engine .. so who knows we might get longer minutes out of him as we don't have a big rotation of props like the Sharks do.
John Morris had a big influence on his career when Royce started at the Sharks so we have that link. I've read he's a standard-setter in the gym (200kg+ bench press) & brings plenty of energy & aggression to the training paddock not to mention an off-the-back-fence impact middle. I feel those ingredients are what we need more of in the club.

Xavier Willison – Bronco’s - Prop
Kaufusi – Sharks - Prop
Tapuha – Sharks – Prop
Royce Hunt – Sharks – Prop
George Delaney 20yrs Pommy - Prop
Jack Williams – Sharks – lock forward
Tallis Duncan – Souths - lock forward
Matt Doorey – Eels – 2nd Row
Junior Nsemba Pommy - 19yrs - backrower, 105 kg, 195cm
This is the hit list of players touted on this forum we should be having serious talks with.
And that's just for a revitalise pack.

In the story it says Sharks will consider an early release (for '25) for something in return, how good teams do it. Really they won't want him for next season anyway with their number of props & AFB incoming.

They are light for up-and-coming backrowers so maybe Tumeth may interest them as someone they can develop further. Or potentially Sullivan (with us paying a chunk) depending on how they rate Atkinson, Dykes & Puru as backups to Hynes, Trindall.
How about we offer them Bateman he he just kidding.

I get your point, the bloke is 29 this year

Age is a common denominator at the Tigers

I can understand an argument for Royce Hunt as an impact bench forward.

If he is counted on to be more of a starting contributor, I am not convinced he's that guy.

If he's purely an impact forward- he needs to be paid accordingly.

I'm not sure the money/role are going to meet the value to a club like the Tigers. I'm pretty certain the Tigers would need to pay 'overs' for a guy that literally plays 10-15 minutes a game. Doesn't seem wise.

I've heard and read a lot about this young Pom .. Junior Nsemba .. dad was a mad football (soccer) supporter and want his young son to play .. but was surprise when he giant of son came home and said he's playing League .. dad thought he meant meant rugby .. lol Very impressive stats and viewing his highlights reel. Just not sure Wigan Warriors would release him at this age of 19. JuniorNsemba.jpg

I'd have him as a starter as we need more aggression & power to roll forward in the initial 20 minutes. Rest him from 20 mins until 20 mins into 2nd half, so becomes a 40-min middle which he's capable of.

Other fans message boards discuss Top 8 and Premiership chances …

We have debates about the hypothetical amount of playing time for guys at othe clubs that have about a 1 percent chance of coming here …

Good times..😂

Are they?

Every Burgess Brother went well here (unsure how much ESL they played).
James Graham really earned his stripes.
Yes the Bulldogs got a second front rower, that did average when he was meant to be a gun.

Flip it with the backs we get here. I can't recall a single Pom back going well here unless they were already playing NRL i.e. Pat Richardson coming back to us.

I hope Richo isn't buying backs.
Hanley , Schofield and another one who played with the tigers, went really well , think his name was. Myler

I mean, we could debate where Utoikamanu will go to & how many years we'll be rebuilding for instead...

😛

Im ambivalent(sorry Rex) as to whether Stef stays or goes at 800k....thats an elite prop, and he aint
hes simply not worth anything like that tbh
But the issue is .as always.how do we replace him?
If we cld secure Royce and another hard running prop,Im perfectly ok..guys who will make a dent
Having said that.I expect Stef to actually stand up and grow a pair in a different culture to WTs
But atm.were rewarding mediocrity and potential...sounds like a certain no 7 ...

Nope, not that easy.

May isn't a Todd Carney. Todd IMHO was actually someone I think we should have signed (1 year contract) when he finally got booted from the Sharks. Yes he would have stuffed up again, but we could have used him.

The Dogs have an experienced coach in ... Phil Gould and his assistant Ciraldo.
They can manage the attitudes of May and could manage a troublemaker. Xerri has performed under them and Xerri will get the boot if he stuffs up.

Marshall however does not have that support. Don't make his job harder.
Xerri wasn’t a serial offending trouble maker. He made a huge mistake (which he owned up to, rather than the usual “tainted supplements” garbage line most drug cheats throw out).

Sharks have says he's free to go in 2026, when he'll be turning 31.
Who knows how his body will handle the physicality of his style in his early-mid thirties. Klemmer seems to have slowed down a lot compared to a few years ago...
