The clubs cooked

Yes but we all seen what richo did at Souths. Be patient.
15 years without finals. Patience is a virtue that wore off a long time ago. Some of us are over winning only 4 or 5 games a year. Is it too much to ask to have a season like the Dragons, where we just win half our games, and sit on the edge of the 8? Why do we need to cop winning only 4 games a year?

You might be right but that isn't a call that can be made now, it's a call for 2025.
That's what I mean by doubling down on your mistake. I think everyone knows Benji is not right, he can't be. He cannot possibly be good enough to handle this. There are a few good coaches on the market right now who have done a good apprenticeship in Ryles, Hannay and obviously Arthur. 2025 may be a different story.

People just need to swallow their pride. Admit that the mistake was made and rectify it rather than waiting for stupid bureaucracy or waiting for a "good look". Make the tough call FFS.

I don’t disagree with you, but the last decade of failures won’t be changed in 3 months . Pascoe is finally gone, and so is everyone else that stopped us moving forward . I honestly believe this is the one step back , for a two step forwards year next year .

Pascoe is finally gone, you are right. But you know what, at the start of 2017, JT was finally gone. In 2021, Madge was finally gone. Last year Brooks was finally gone. We’re like a tape on an endless loop where we create a scapegoat, sack them and think our problems are solved. Until the next one comes along.

Not as a coach, no. It’s like saying “this brain surgeon has performed complex, highly risky surgeries for 20 years and has amassed a ton of awards for outstanding work in his field…Why can’t he fly that 747?
It's not anything like saying that, what a ridiculous comparison.

What it is like is: promoting a bloke to manager and he is now in charge of people who are doing the job that he did himself for 20 years.

Being in the game for 20 years, coached by some of the best coaches, playing at the highest level is an excellent pedigree and level of experience. Not a guarantee for coaching success of course but a legitimate pedigree.

It’s going to end in tears.

I am not advocating wholesale coaching changes but as a club if you see your investment in the Coach not achieving expectations you throw as many resources to stopping the slide, not say we have to give this time. Another six months only hurts Benjis confidence and needs the help now. Or next year will be his swan song. Surely Richo is already working on a plan after this weekend. If this was a mainstream business you would not risk the sudden nosedive without getting as much help to turn the business around.

Richo was never going to sack Marshall and certainly won't this year. Benji is the brightest star in the club's history and sacking him is the easiest way to get the most influential people offside. Midway through next year he'll be replaced by Morris in an interim role if it isn't going well, and after that there will be some big name coach ready to take over. But, I actually think it won't be so bad next year, recruitment moves pending.

Deadset, the roster has terrible depth. That was not Marshall's decision. There are multiple ways to invest in your juniors but it was a desperate move by a very desperate board to agree to putting so many in the 30 at such a young age, and a desperate move to create this coaching team of Marshall and Farah to lead them.

Although people want Stef and Ice and Bateman and Klemmer all gone, you need NRL standard players to replace them. I'd rather keep them if there are no NRL replacements coming. Otherwise, that is how basketcases are woven. Last night shows what happens when you don't have NRL players in your 30 or a team of boys playing against men.

I'm sorry but that's the weird post mate. 4 games a year acceptable?
I never said it was acceptable, I said I don't know what people realistically expected.

They want the coach gone because the team is just as shit as they were the past 3-4 seasons.

You know we had 2 well-credentialled experienced coaches the two years before Benji and they came back with a giant duck egg as well.
