OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

I really get sick of the media muppets and their crap comparisons on us not letting Galvin go but are trying to offload Sullivan.
The case is we have a contract with both and we can hold Galvin to it as that’s the rules. Sullivan in turn can also hold us to the contract if he chooses to do so, that’s the rules. If he doesn’t want to leave that’s fine just like packer did!! Stop banging on about a comparison that u are miss using, muppets.

I hope this current backlash from ex players like MG, Johns boys,Tallis and Anasta actually hits home with Galvin and his family. Although I think Moses will be advising them to keep low for a week and it all will blow away, as there will be another drama to force this one out of the media.

The other thing, when someone cops a barrage for doing something, it can make them more determined to continue even if it is the wrong thing to do
We will probably come out with a win this weekend and Galvin with his swollen thumb will be a distant memory. ✌️

It’s encouraging to see ex players in the media come out and say the the kid should stay with the Tigers and fight to dig us out.
I agree that’s a better legacy should it work.

Completely correct, you will always get more respect and admiration for working hard and sticking with the one club to get them to the top rather than selling yourself to another club who is already there. This applies to all clubs not just us and is why i can respect players at other clubs who just do their job year after year despite the club not being particularly strong.

I can’t really be too critical of the way Galvin has reacted. He’s a victim of circumstances.
Not sure how they did it but Sheens and McDonnell signed the kid to play with Tigers. At that point his future was in his hands.
Suddenly his future became blurry as the club did what they have always done.
The two Tigers representatives with whom he had mapped out his exciting future were sacked. their sacking also followed other signings crucial to his pathway.
There is a pretty big list of disgruntled ex Tigers doing ok at other clubs, unfortunately this kid will eventually join that list.

Do you think Mitchell Moses and Teddy would really give a dam about respect and admiration. It’s about money and winning sadly and how they achieve that would not worry them.

In saying that there would be players out there who have old fashion values and who are loyal…but not many

in reality he probably said in the sheds "can't wait to leave this place" meaning the sheds and grogfield overheard it turned it into a story. Feel sorry for Galvin in that instance

The bigger concern is the two requests for releases from his manager which richo even acknowledged. Managers get riding instructions from players
Managers are like real estate agents, they just tell the player to keep quiet and let me do what's best for you. Instead the player should be saying I'm paying you so I'll tell you what's best for me and you go get me the best deal based on that. The dynamic is totally wrong with the agent having the influence over the player. I'll guarantee that Galvin hasn't addressed anything because his manager has told him not to make any statements.

It all depends on the parents and what their values are…I can imagine Lachlans Dad drives a RAM truck, has a shaven head and his chest is draped in gold chain, with a speed boat parked in his driveway, while his mum has breast implants, cheek and bum fillers…and prances around wearing active wear draped with a gucci handbag

I agree with what you are saying but their attitude will never make them worthy of admiration in my mind especially Moses.

Us not releasing Galvin and letting Bud go is completely diffrent. The tossers in the media don't understand. When a club signs a player the club is guaranteed that player will play for them that is the guarantee the club receives from the player. When a player signs for a club the club guarantees the money agreed upon for the life of the contract. Contracts that guarantee a first grade position would be few and far between. That's the diffrence. No matter where Bud goes the next 3 1/2 years he earns 500k a year. The clubs take all the risks the players get all the benefit with no risk. Once a player signs a 4 yr 500k a year deal they really can't lose unless they do something really stupid. The club loses salary cap room and a top 30 spot in their squad if the player doesn't perform. Irrespective the player still gets played. Even if Bud is sent to England we guarantee 500k a year for the next 3 1/2 years. The club obviously doesn't see mutual benefit with Bud so send him elsewhere to free up salary cap money and a top 30 spot. It's a risk the club took that didn't pay off. Galvin is on a cheaper deal with more upside it's a risk the club took that has paid off. That's the diffrence. Sorry for the long spiel.

Great finally!
No what I mean is don’t bang on about so much, your a bit of a Debbie downer.
We are all in a hole, last thing u need is people shoveling more shit on top.
If it gets to you so much, just put me on ignore mate. Saves you getting upset, and saves me getting notifications from you, following me around in every thread barking at me

Figure pulling strings in Tiger teen circus;

Wests Tigers teenager Lachlan Galvin seems like a great young bloke from a thoroughly decent family.
Which is why it’s so bizarre to see the agitation and the attempted manipulation around the rookie requesting an immediate release.

Galvin has played 10 NRL games this season and has a contract with Wests Tigers until the end of 2026.

Low and behold the agent puppeteering the strings on the Galvin situation is none other than Isaac Moses.

This is the same Isaac Moses who was involved when his cousin Mitchell demanded an immediate release to move to the Parramatta Eels.

The same year Moses also moved James Tedesco to the Sydney Roosters and Aaron Woods to the Bulldogs.

All three players – like Galvin – were local Wests Tigers juniors.

For unknown reasons Moses has now apparently thrown his toys out of the cot about Wests Tigers coach Benji Marshall.

This is not unusual given Moses has a penchant for fallouts with some of the biggest and most influential figures in the game.

Nick Politis, Phil Gould and Ricky Stuart all point blank refuse to deal with him.

Good on Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson for having the cojones to reject the release request.

The mail is Richardson will meet Galvin’s parents this week to explain the Wests Tigers reasoning and outline the club’s plan moving forward.

And spare us the fluffy cupcake fairytales about the Wests Tigers refusing to provide him with a direct pathway into the NRL.

We can’t think of too many other NRL coaches who would have selected the 18-year-old in the no.6 jumper for the start of the season.

The only two games Galvin’s missed is when he was suspended for a hip drop tackle at the conclusion of round three.

He’s then been rested this week which was always planned as he recovers from a broken hand.

The Wests Tigers met Moses last Friday and offered an upgrade and an extension on Galvin’s current deal.

Moses immediately rejected it and then the circus began to unfold off the back of it.

Like we said at the start Galvin seems like a great young bloke from a good family.

But there are no winners when agents try to agitate with players under contract.

It’s also interesting to note NRL CEO Andrew Abdo has weighed in on the issue warning rules are rules around players under contract.

So Benji did not sign Sullivan, Fulton did, is that correct, because Graham was saying on 360 that Benji signed Sullivan and now Benji is basically throwing him out of his 4 year contract after a few months.
There would be next to no chance that 1 guy is fully responsible for any 1 contract. The coach may have been the instigator such as Madge with Api or Benji with Luai or the recruitment manager may be the instigator such as Fulton with the Fainus but all the recruitment team would have to agree to it.
Whomever instigated it, The Sullivan contract is really only terrible in hindsight. Sure the value was always excessive but at the time we had no Luai no Sezer, Galvin was still in school and Fainu was yet to play senior football. Sullivan was pretty much the only half on the market. His manager would have had us over a barrell as far as the negotiations went.

God on him.
We need help on this.
The only way low clubs like us can become competitive is through growing their own talent. When one is unearthed the administration should help them keep them.
I’d like to ask Buzz how he thinks our club can survive when good young talent are allowed to walk at 18. Why is he advocating for this to occur? I mean with the longevity of players these days, he could be active for 17 more years. The good clubs would love to have him…we need him.
His answer would be wholly resultant on how many teeth Id knock down his throat.
He's a big advocate for players leaving clubs when it's one of our players, but when it's a team he likes the player is showing no loyalty.
