Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Lee will become the next Benny Elias,

Dial a Negative Tigers quote.

#Ignore
We seem to have a lot of ex club people, with a strong sense of entitlement that somehow they got punished unfairly.

The reality is that they were given a chance, more than a chance and they failed us.

They don’t like spending time in our fans and members shoes. That is, not having any power and control

I think it reflects poorly on them.

Lee in particular, oversaw the worst era in our clubs history.

The temerity and gall of the guy to complain about being sacked is breathtaking and no one’s having any of it.

Lee is not going to be re-instated, we don’t want his money and we haven’t seen the review either.

He’s simply got no insight. Every time he complains, we feel better that he’s gone as it reminds of us life under his fedora inspired regime. His hopeless appointments, constant reassurance of success, no accountability, poor recruitment and my bug bear, the return of Tim which everyone said at the time was rubbish and it came to pass.

It sounds strange but I think Losing under the current junta is better than losing under Lee.

Because there’s a slither of hope for the future associated with it.

Earth to Lee: (this word will be removed) off.

I know must on here think Nathan brown is not a good player , but he would have been a great 13 for us , manly have resigned him for 2more years , this is way we are in this position, we had the chance to sign him but as usual we passed
He’s been good at Manly this year. Tough, more skillful than given credit for and a competitor. Would have been a good signing but I think a lot thought he was busted.

honestly Stef has done nothing overly impressive to earn that $800,000 price tag. He has honestly been reserve grade standard for a while now and I think it’s for the best we let him go. I think Fonua Pole has been far better in every aspect. He is far more impactful with his runs, a lot faster and better laterally. We also have Jordan Miller coming through (granted 12 months away and untried) he has similar body composition to Stef with more body fat. I’d say he probs only gets about 15-20 mins for his debut, the game is a lot faster in first grade and he still looks a bit to heavy for first grade. Hope he shows up Stef, cause I’d say Klemmer has been more consistent then Stef.

Stef is one of those high risk contracts. Everyone can see he has the ‘potential’ to be a top level prop.

Yet we have all seen this movie… and in his case 80% of the time doesn’t play anywhere near his potential.

The Wests Tigers’ fight to retain Stefano Utoikamanu is on life support after the parties agreed to remain in talks but put contract negotiations on hold for the moment.

Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson and Utoikamanu’s manager Daniel O’Loughlin are believed to have met this week for the first time since a five-year-deal worth $4 million was placed on the table, a bid the club hoped would convince the front row enforcer to stay.

However, it is understood they are yet to strike a deal as Utoikamanu edges closer to the open market.

Rival clubs are circling with intent as they consider making a move for Utoikamanu but may need to be patient as they wait to see whether contract clauses come into effect that would tie him to the Tigers for another year.

Utoikamanu will automatically trigger a one-year extension if he plays the final two games of the State of Origin series for NSW or the Tigers qualify for the finals.

Both seem unlikely at this stage, meaning the Tigers may have only a matter of weeks to strike a deal or risk their best forward being up for grabs.

It comes as the Tigers find themselves in the midst of a roster rebuild, having given half Jayden Sullivan and centre Brent Naden permission to explore their options elsewhere.

Sullivan has interest from Super League but he won’t be going to England any time soon despite overseas reports that the Wests Tigers half was on his way to the competition next season.

The fact that Sullivan has appeared on the radar of a host of Super League clubs isn’t a surprise given the Tigers are happy for the half to move on at the end of season.

However, his agent Mario Tartak has made it clear that Sullivan has little interest to quit the NRL at the age of 22.

“My client Jayden Sullivan will not be going to the Super League,” Tartak said. “These rumours are just that.”

The English press have also nominated Catalans as a potential landing spot for Naden. Naden, who too is free to move on at the end of the season despite being contracted to the Tigers, won’t be joining the French-based club.

A Catalans contact said the club had no interest in pursuing the outside back.

You forgot to mention how he has ruined countless jerseys since 2016, 9 years of forcing that hideous oversized pile of shit logo on already long suffering supporters, misleading everyone about what the real membership numbers were, offering inflated contracts to family friends, so wrapped up in his own self importance.

The first time I ever saw the guy was after a game at Cambo when they had a members event after the game and my initial reaction was, "Who is this pompous prick?"

Turned out to be not too far from reality.

Absolutely.

He actually believes that if he criticises the club that somehow people are going to say

“ That’s right Lee, we miss you, we are all sorry and we were wrong. Please come back”

He’s delusional and needs to see a doctor.

And the kindergarten kid who designed the appalling logo has had to repeat so many times, he looks like a teacher.

What about the Anzac jersey, we were lucky it didn’t have the taliban featured on it.

He’s irrelevant these days and he knows it. He’s just bitter about it, really cut up that his club legacy is failure at every endeavour.

That he’s doubling down and further embarrassing himself, all it does his highlight his sacking for being an incompetent tool.

Makes you wonder why Richo went to the UK…time will tell …but not much point shopping players that have no intention of leaving..
You would think that before you go shopping players around overseas you'd mention it to the players themselves to gauge their interest or else you are going to look very foolish if they don't want to go. It wasn't like they were going to go to play with another Sydney team ffs - they were being shopped to clubs nearly 17000 klms away. If it's illegal to contact a player whilst he is contracted why isn't it illegal to shop players without their knowledge ?
