Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I hope we keep Sezer next year even as a bench player , he has been good for us
Luai , Galvin Sezer , Latu Keepers
move bud on if we can and fre up a spot
Bud , Topou , Tumeth , Feledy , Toa , Naden , Can move on
Seizer doesn’t get anywhere near enough credit for his impact on us winning games, I don’t think we’ve won a game without him. He seems to provide a perfect foil as an experienced head next to Galvin allowing him to play his game more. I’d offer him another year at the very least as a backup option behind Luai if he wants it 100%.

And to think that Scott Fulton made it public he wanted Cogger and Benji rejected it in favour of Seizer which caused the bitter feud between the pair.

Fulton released that info to the media right after Cogger came on in that GF and played well for 25 mins riding off Nathan thinking it would make Benji look bad……. times a funny thing. So happy we went with Seizer he has been terrific.

I think you're totally missing the point of what that means. You seem to think it means we won't ever sign anyone from outside the club. Which is totally incorrect. Signing top level players from outside our region is necessary across all grades, especially at NRL level.

Replace “wont ever” with rarely ,,,

It means that because Richo has said numerous times thats what it means …

One of the commentators, perhaps Gould, mentioned how well Utoikamanu is served by having Koroisau at dummy half. In our conversations about retention and recruitment, the strength of our fullback, 5/8, half and hooker should be mentioned. The Raiders struggled yesterday due to the lack of a ball player in the halves.
Like us, the last 10 years
Hail Salad!!!

Agree. Api hits him perfectly from dummy half.
I think he’s been linked to Melbourne? Their dummy half is not so shabby either. Learnt everything he knows from his time at the Tigers…

The Seyfarth, Porter 1-2 off the kick off didnt inspire a whole lot of confidence in me but what you lose in impact you gain in consistency and effort I suppose. Think they need to sure up the prop rotation with Klemmer or Twal off the bench
I'm sure Klemmer and Twal were watching so pressure on them to lift a gear or two.
Plodding will not suffice anymore. Hard to drop winners from the last 2 weeks.
I hope Benji "rests them in KOE" to test their NRL fitness?????
Next weeks game should answer a few more long term questions on who we shop for , for 2025

I also think that Sezer is one tough front on defender that mostly goes unnoticed.
And as you mentioned has that experience head for Galvin to exploit and high contestable bombs.

He has been good. One thing I’ve noticed is he seems to drive the line speed in defence.

Yeah fair perspective. Think Twals form was actually quite good before the concussion. I think they will at least rotate Kit Laulilii out like they did with Miller last week.

Yes, he certainly has been destructive for the club with his cryptic comments, contract saga and arse hole of a manager.

Well done Stef, keep up the good work.
I hope Richo is in the ear of Royce Hunt's manager atm telling him to hold off negotiating with Rabbits.

If Uto does go, Hunt imo would be ideal ...

-He's that massive but mobile body we lack, impact & leg drive
-Great example setter in the gym apparently (good for our young middles)
-Would not hold up pathway of our juniors coming through (29 this year)
-Brings experience & good defensively
-Samoa rep with Luai & co
-Related to Reuben Porter's mrs
-History with John Morris at Sharks
-A 30-35 min middle perfect for us

Sezer is a natural leader and that certainly helps a young squad like ours.
I would be keeping him for 2025 and when at full strength play him as our 14 as an option to play some dummy half and even spend some time at 13.

Also played the full 80 minutes in his last match.

I agree if we lose Stef it’s vitally important that we sign Royce Hunt.
I’m of the thinking if we lose Stef, we sign both Royce Hunt and Oregon Kaufusi.

May depend if we can offload Sullivan to another Sydney club (don't think he will go anywhere else). Rabbits may be best bet.

I think Sezer will go dogs, where it all started. He might be the difference for them and might lead them to a premiership.

He is definitely first grade standard and he will have a good thing going with Burton for the next 2 years if they sign him.

As for us, despite the fact he is a gun, what do we do with him?

Latu, Galvin, Luai, Sullivan, Doueihi all very capable halves. Unfortunately it might be in all our interests for him to go.

I agree. As good as Sezer has been for us, he's surplus once we have Luai and a fit Latu Fainu.

Would be great but somehow doubt Fitzgibbon would let them both go.
Hunt has already been given permission to sign elsewhere and Kaufusi has an option for 2025 in his favour, so nothing Sharks can do about him leaving if he signs elsewhere.
Another interesting player with an option in his favour for 2025 is Joe Chan from the Storm. He plays very physical, but not getting regular game time, so he also might be wanting to head elsewhere.
