Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Sitili for 4 years is in an awful signing. He’s one or two more head knocks away from being done. I would be fuming if we did that.
It’s not the signing , it’s that the dogs get things done while we sit on our hands and wonder why the hell are we getting wooden spoons , Richo and benji speak the speak but so far nothing is happening, papa gone maybe Bateman , stepho looks like going and what the hell have we got to should for it , a bunch of kids who will take 2-3 years to get up to speed . Get of ur arses Richo and benji and get some help before we lose more players

Tartak is Scott Fultons right hand man.....for some reason our Cap seems to ALWAYS be in a crap position and restains us from signing talent that comes on the market...yet the Dogs and Roosters sign players at will...Gus managed to completely turn over his roster in 2 years...TPG left withouit a payout only to return to the NRL less than 12 months later....
Yeah sure

I hear Richo is off to UK again via South Africa to check on a few Rugba prospects….

Can someone tell me what Laulilli does better than Staines at the moment ?
I have stated he has certainly been ripping in and giving his best, but he’s short and not confident under the high ball, he does not have enough speed to score long range tries and despite his best efforts his defence is shaky at best.
Certainly not the attributes for the prototype modern day winger such as Dominic Young, Xavier Coates, Zac Lonax etc.
I also agree the way he fearlessly runs the ball makes you think he could become a genuine metre eating winger similar to what Brian To’o provides, but he’s currently very raw and still growing, it could take a year or two before he becomes someone that genuinely strikes fear into the opposition at NRL level.
Another player that no doubt has talent, but thrown into play NRL long before consistently standing out at NSW Cup level.
I'd say you've just highlighted the development path.

Lualili'i will, in time, take the place of Staines, who has another year on his contract.

Staines is out through injury atm, so Lualili'i is playing in his place.

They reckon he's got a lot of baggage... Just what we need another I'll disciplined player
I'd say he can be a little wild.

Thing is- watching a physically tough side like the Roosters manhandle us yesterday- I think (losing Utoikamanu) that the club needs to rethink the strategy.

JWH. Collins. Radley. These guys all sail close, or over, the line. I think we need to meet fire with fire. Horsburgh doesn't take a backward step. Lined up with Klemmer, Seyfarth & Bateman, I think we replace the athletic skills of Utoikamanu with the pure willingness to physically dominate.

For all the critisism of our ill discipline- it's not Klemmer, Bateman going to the bin. Seyfarth...yes.

I think we could do with more front-on aggression.

Just as an aside...while I have proposed someone like Horsburgh...

What if the answer to "who should replace Utoikamanu" is actually an in house option that we constantly overlook?

Against the Titans & Raiders, we had Alex Seyfarth run 143 & 132m respectively, off the bench. His minutes per game are way up now. His tackle breaks are over double where they were 2 years ago. His defence is in the low-to-mid 90% range for his career & he is double his metres in a season on his last 2 seasons.

Has Seyfarth quietly developed into a starting prop?

Totally agree here, i feel since we are going down the path of being a development club we will always be a bottom 8 team and in this day and age that is not good enough!!People can bag GUS all they want but he has turned the Bulldogs around in 3 years and they still on the up, It just don't make sense why we think this will change. Our so called young stars maybe are not as good as we think they are.Sure we jag a good signing every now and then, but that's it we need to keep doing this every year until we get out of this mess we are in.

I am with u he has been a great team player but not a starting player , we need players with bulk , we can’t compete with sides with monster packs , but he is a great player to come of the bench

I was happy he went last time , but what come of it stuff all , all we get is lip service that things are changing, but all that’s happened is putting out spot fires on players wanting to leave . Then we release papa with no replacement, word is Bateman going too ,
You've got to be realistic. You need to make room before you know what you have to spend in the market.

IP and Bateman leaving frees up big money for a couple of top line players.

Players come off contract all the time and we always find a decent junior or pick up from another club.
