Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Uncle Nick has purchased a ton of realestate in and around Bondi Junction and all the earnings go to the football club and will continue to happen once the fairy godfather passes away….So I was told by a guy who was a sprint trainer for the Chooks
One would think he could afford a decent set of golf clubs and not use stolen driving range balls when having a round with his players.

I’ve read somewhere that JWH is going to super league next season, I’d be trying to get him to Wests for one season no matter the cost, he is someone who can drive standards and influence the younger players , a follow me example that we don’t have. One season won’t block any juniors.

I totally agree, but I can't see him wanting to line up against the Roosters. If he's not at the Roosters, he's not in the NRL

I know for a fact the rort goes like this. Uncle Nick wants to sign a player, so offers them a contract with a monetary value. He also rents out a unit / home agreed upon between himself and the player for the duration of the contract for $1. At the completion of the contract one of two things happen. Either the player re-signs and moves into another property at the same weekly rent. Or leaves whereby at that point the properties are signed over to the player by what ever shell company being used.
This isn't something done for all players but is for Marquee players.

As someone mentioned a few days ago, players we have recently released (Kepaoa, Simpkin) can be included apparently.
Yes, but our squad is in a mess, we're getting smashed in every grade and are in desperate need of reinforcements. We simply have to add players external to the club to our top 30 before the deadline passed. It would be extremely negligent not to.

Can someone tell me what Laulilli does better than Staines at the moment ?
I have stated he has certainly been ripping in and giving his best, but he’s short and not confident under the high ball, he does not have enough speed to score long range tries and despite his best efforts his defence is shaky at best.
Certainly not the attributes for the prototype modern day winger such as Dominic Young, Xavier Coates, Zac Lonax etc.
I also agree the way he fearlessly runs the ball makes you think he could become a genuine metre eating winger similar to what Brian To’o provides, but he’s currently very raw and still growing, it could take a year or two before he becomes someone that genuinely strikes fear into the opposition at NRL level.
Another player that no doubt has talent, but thrown into play NRL long before consistently standing out at NSW Cup level.
Laulilii should not be in first grade. Ok as a cover while others were injured to give him a taste, but he's not ready for first grade. The Roosters ripped him apart and the storm will too. He's a borderline first grade prospect currently. Fullback perhaps his best position with Bula to be moved out of fullback for with Luke or Turuva. Bula is just too lazy to be a fullback.

Isn't it a stupid thing have our 2nd grade split into 2 different teams, Balmain and West, it's been 25yrs since our clubs amalgamated and we still have this stupid setup.
It's time our older section of the club let go of the past and moved into the future.
We became West Tigers in 1999 let's forget we are Balmain or Western Suburbs, And finally accept we are ONE,
WEST TIGERS.
one team in each grade,
No more fighting each other.
I actually think we should have 3

Balmain Tigers,
Magpies
Wests Tigers.

No problem with our second grade having more teams. More teams = more talent pool to pick from.

A few names that I'd have a look at:

Kotoni Staggs (if Cobbo re-signs won't leave much $$$ for Staggs at the donkeys)
Ronaldo Mulitalo (not much else in terms of proven quality outside backs off contract)
Teig Wilson (nephew of John Morris too)
Connelly Lemuelu
Another middle - Oregon Kaufusi, Tui Kamikamica, Griffin Neame, Davvy Moale, Xavier Willison
I feel were too crowded in halfbacks to go for Kotoni Staggs, if he was willing to play Center then sure. But why would he?

I would love to swap out one of our offloads for Ronaldo. I realise this would be hard to negotiate.

Teig Wilson sounds good. Likewise im dreaming but I would love us to sign Oregon Kaufusi... WOuld probably have to settle for Griffin Neame.
