Mate i thought his form or ability may have plateaued early this year , but then remind myself that we have such a poor squad as noted by our results and position on the table and that he is one of few who genuinely looks like he has ability in my opinion.

Yes, as a roaming centre. Look at Doueihi. Only thing Bula has him covered for is speed and tackling…

But he isn't a star. A star on our backline made up of NSW cup plodders, perhaps. He doesn't create opportunities, he doesn't facilitate breaks or offloads. If he was there yelling for the pass but our boys were incapable of offloading the ball to him then yes, being at WT could be used as an excuse. Currently other clubs regularly kick it to Bula because they know he might drop it, and if he doesn't he's unlikely to make a break or break a tackle.
If he was busting his ass and not reaping the rewards you'd have a point. But he's too carefree to throw himself into the match.

So you don’t believe it’s the fullbacks job to make multiple tackle busts each game and create line breaks and/or try scoring opportunities for his team each game ?
One line break against Tino when playing the Titans last season doesn’t give a highly paid NRL player a free pass not to make hardly any tackle busts or line breaks the following season.
If you cannot see it, if Benji cannot see it and if the rest of our fans cannot see it, then we will just have to be happy to continue finishing in the bottom 2 each season.

So what are your opinions and breakdowns of the rest of the guys who have us running at the bottom?

Just saying that the narrative is weird for a guy that is clearly playing as well, if not better than last season.

But I guess a popularity vote should put the argument to bed over a stats argument.

He doesnt break tackles... And he doesn't look to me like he's playing better.. His defense despite the stats saying is better... Looks less effective, maybe there's not as many try savers as there was in 23

You questioned if he'd get the POTY award this year. Pretty much a popularity contest.

But, with that in mind- he's got to be in the top 2-3 contenders, right?

Api obviously. Maybe Sam Fainu. Galvin? No way Galvin is playing BETTER than Bula, but popularity might push him up there.

Anyone else? He won't be far away, I bet you that much.

Probably his best game this season, he and Pole clearly our best two players tonight.
That said, do we have the players around him to get the best out of him and do we have a team that can afford not to have a fullback who can assist with playmaking and a kicking game ?

I've said it twice, to the person who mention the POTY award.

It's not deflecting any argument. I've presented stats against the "he doesn't get involved" argument.

It's an eyeball/opinion test as far as if people think he's regressed or not.

I've been pretty solid on my opinion that he hasn't.
