I tell the grandkids all the time don't settle for second best you only live once you can not buy back time it's your most valuable resourceDoes being secretly pissed off count as a mental health problem.
Three years ago we bought our dream house . Big house, pool , spa , many bathrooms all the bells and whistles. Turns out a big house and a big yard is a lot of maintenance and I'm not one to pay a stranger to come to my house to clean or mow.
So my wife decided and I went along with it to keep the peace, to sell up and buy a townhome. It's big enough and a nice place but it feels like tomorrow I start the final phase of life. In all honesty I would rather have remained here but keeping my wife happy is more important to me.
The worst bit is I had to sell off my pinball machines.
All in all I'm a bit miserable about it, but this is just a bit of pissing into the wind about a first world problem.
Suck it up and move on Packer!
I also tell the grandkids
Finish school go to uni or do a trade then your life is finally yours no more family friends telling you what to do
Go have some fun till your 30 be selfish enjoy the about 8 years in your life that's actually yours
Then about 30 get serious find a partner and start to plan the next stage give your self to the relationship
