Not sure exactly what names you are referring to, but as you say it appears there is a chance NAS will head our way.
Daniel Saifiti told the Knights need him th depart for salary cap reasons, not many clubs can afford or would be willing to pay his 800k salary. The Dragons are supposedly interested in him, BUT I’ve heard he and his family are settled on the Central Coast so travelling to Wollongong for training is not his preferred option.
Joe Chan has an option in his favour to depart Melbourne and as he has not cemented himself as a regular starting player, he could very well be open to being a starting player for a team on the rebuild.
Charlie Guymer is off contract and as much as the Eels would obviously love the keep him, they have way over stocked and over spent on their back row stocks. We would have to pay him on potential to be any chance of getting him, but he’s one I’m highly confident will develop into a high class NRL player very quickly. He’s a country boy with that no nonsense attitude, something desperately need.

It would be great if there was the slightest bit of rumour or news connecting the others to the club ….otherwise it’s nothing more than pie in the sky speculation …

This is exactly the amount of first graders I counted last night that we have going into next year. 22 first graders is so much to find between now and round 1 next year. Quite disheartening.

You can’t medically retire someone unless it’s a new injury. Everyone knew his knee was cooked but we signed him for 3 years anyway.

NAS is coming here apparently …so I can get behind that …

Any injury whether it was previously known about or not can be reason to medically retire a player.
In Olam’s case the most recent news of NAS potentially coming with the intention of playing alongside him again, possibly means there is no intention of him being medically retired.

It seems to make zero sense to me …that they would permit him to be medically retired without at least trying surgery as an option first …

haven’t heard that … they were trying to get by on plasma injections but that’s now run its course….and obviously hasn’t worked ….. it was reported in the media that “clean out surgery” was an option. ..the article didn’t say he was reluctant to have the surgery

I’m sure he has in the past (Maybe towards the end of his storm contract or during offseason?), said that he wasn’t keen to have surgery and was going to try everything else available to manage the injury. And I believe the plasma injections were one of the options.
