Madge can coach. The issue is he can only coach one style which is a big physical team to play quite a simple game plan of bash and barge with high effort areas. He works at rep level because he can select players who fit that style of play. The Wests Tigers squad was the complete opposite of being able to play that way and it was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole for 3.5 years. He had to go. We couldn’t wait for 6 years whilst he reshaped the roster to fit his style. He needed to get the best out of the players he had at the time. The problem was the coaches that followed Madge got worse and worse.

Moses had a great game. His defence was outstanding and there was only ever going to be a couple of chances in that game and he took his to seal it. He is a class act.

Man Angus Chrichton really turned his form around this season.

Angus and Liam Martin are the ideal back rowers with all the required skills. Can run a good line, offload, take a hard hit up, smash people in defence.

Hardcore game. Qld missed the bulk and aggro of Tino, Flegler and Gilbert. NSW took advantage. To some extent, these series hinge on who gets injured during the year.

Great to see Luai playing at such a high standard against the best. He's improved this year.

Moses was great in the 2nd half but I'd still go with Chin next year, if he's fit. It's reminds me of when NSW had to choose between Sterling and Mortimer - both top players, or when the national team had to choose between Brett Kenny and Wally Lewis at 5/8.

Why couldn’t we wait?
It’s going to take at least that long anyway and I doubt he wins 3 spoons along the way.

Not just skills. Both are great athletes with a lot of fast twitch. Hard to find these complete players. We may have one in Sam Fainu.
