They posted a photo of the emblem of the jersey when they teased the announcement. It was never going to be anything important.

We announced one. Maybe the biggest announcement in the history of the club, and easily the biggest signing announcement of any club this year. Back in January. Who was that again?its sad when your much touted announcement is a jersey release….meantime other clubs announce major player signings….

That is a lot of “must keeps” over the next couple of years. We already have a lot of spots in the Top 30 taken by young players not yet ready for regular first grade and won’t be able to offer most of these players a spot. With this week's news that a talented Magpies junior Zak Clarke is off to Penrith next season, it got me thinking who are our 'must keeps' from pathways (knowing that we can't keep all our juniors).
Have divided into 2 categories (and not including those who will be Top 30 or Dev next year):
1 - Those too old for Jersey Flegg next season (so would have to be signed as a T&T or NSW Cup contract)
2 - Our current 17-20 yos
21yos moving into seniors next year 'must keeps' (Only 5 I'd be keen to retain, the 5th is a ??? too)
1. Bailey Hodges
2. Cayne Nicholas
3. Herman Tofaeono
4. Vaka Aho
5. Kobie Wilson
Our 17-20yos 'must keeps'
1. Haemasi Makasini (17)
2. Onitoni Large (17)
3. Christian Taupau-Moors (17)
4. Pheonix Godinet (17)
5. Lachlan Broederlow (20)
6. Navren Willett (19)
7. Jared Haywood (18)
8. Archie Duncombe (18)
9. Alex Isdale (17)
10. Mitchell Taotua (19)
11. Maxwell Taotua (19)
12. Peter Ta'ai (17)
NOTE: We have a lot of exceptional 16yos (Ashton Large, Siotame Havea & quite a few from Andrew Johns Cup)
Thoughts?
The biggest news of the last decade was the previous board stepping down haha
Yep fair assessment. And yes, Twal was a proper star in the junior ranks. He's like a smaller and less skilful version of Twal to me. And given his inability to standout in flegg or cup it appears that's about right.
People on here forget how Twal was a real force in the junior grades, u20s origin star etc. And he's still a solid plodder.
Yep...like a sick jokeFans are desperate for some positivity from this club…. Today was a letdown
Been busy today so what the big announcements

New major sponsorBeen busy today so what the big announcements
They do actually. Why would anyone be silly enough to expect a signing announcement?
Signing announcements don’t come via teasers and set launch times.
When I say ‘must keeps’, I mean keep in our system whether top 30, development contract, train & trial, NSW Cup contract or continue to progress through our junior reps pathways. That is a lot of “must keeps” over the next couple of years. We already have a lot of spots in the Top 30 taken by young players not yet ready for regular first grade and won’t be able to offer most of these players a spot.
We will have to take a punt on which ones we do keep.
