LIVE GAME Round 20 vs. Rabbitohs

Live Game Discussion
For 650k a season, Bateman provides ill- discipline in spades, no attacking threat and passable defence. While he tries hard, the game has passed him by and it's sad to watch.
I think you are right.
Similar story with Klemmer isn’t it ?
He plods along and does his job, but for a man of his size and status he no longer plays with the intensity required to scare anyone.
Sezer defends well, but his attacking game is atrocious.
Miller needs to improve in a lot of areas before he’s ready for NRL.

I missed the game because I was doing more important things like putting down a brew. So, what are the takeouts of the latest flogging/sin binning?

Naden is better than what’s there. Despite his brain snaps.
Galvin is not an NRL quality half. He touches the ball way too much for what he actually accomplishes with it. He almost touched the ball more times than our dummy half today and almost more than Sezer and Bula combined. If you are going to be that highly involved, you have to do something with it. I’d much prefer 20 less touches but some clutch plays resulting from them.
I agree Bateman is a dope, but his defence is hardworking. He is having a go. Sams effectiveness was at its height when coming off the bench just like Seyfarth.
Galvin is playing like a guy who is not being coached properly. Not able to pick his moments, over playing his hand. Up to the coaching staff and senior players to support him to be better, otherwise Isaac Moses is bang on, he is better off elsewhere.

As usual. No sense, everything back the front. From your posts I have formed the opinion that you know nothing at all about football. Give it a rest for the remaining games. Please.

Your tirade on Galvin is becoming as embarrassing as Vicious with Bula.

I don’t think he “threw” them in the air… the force of the tackle did it. Which is why I think it’s a ridiculous rule.
He wrapped his left leg around the attackers left leg then left his feet and landed on the leg that had been wrapped.
Dangerous tackle. As it’s his 5th charge, he is gone. Month at least.

I think Galvin is probably guilty of trying too hard. He wants to win and take responsibility which is great but needs to learn that less can be more - he should pick his times to inject himself more judiciously.
If he came through the grades properly, he’d understand that everyone in first grade understands what they are doing…as opposed to schoolboy or junior reps where this isn’t the case.
He doesn’t work with his outside backs well enough often crowding them or just shovelling the ball to them without setup. He does have a good combo with Sam Fainu but even this needs variation and nuance.
He also starves his other spine members of the ball. The team looked better at the start of the year when he wasn’t trying to be the man, allowing them to inject themselves more.
He needs to back off and be a better team player.

So be it, I’m not upset about it, I just think it’s a stupid rule… the player tackled didn’t leave the field and played on it to get a penalty. Shit like this should make the player leave the field, same as head stuff. If you want to play the game you should cop the consequences… if your hurt it’s all good, sin bin the player but everything else is just the game and accidents happen.

S Fainu is too good for bench imo if he can play 80 mins why wouldn't you?

Speaking of Fainus Sione needs to be extended asap he is every bit a first grader.

I don’t disagree. I do think these tackles when the defender lands on the attackers lower legs is dangerous though and needs to be stamped out.

We have to stop thinking a bench player is a demotion. This is his first proper year of first grade. He is clocking off in defence a little bit during games. The big workload of starting is an adjustment.

I think his defence has really started to drop off the last few weeks
