OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

People going off on tangents here and believing what they want.
Galvin never said Benji told them to 'have fun'.
He said he lets him 'play'.
It has been mentioned countless times that Benji told him that if he sees something in front of him (an opportunity) to go for it.
The kid is only 18 and already playing above his years... let him develop and he'll be a champ.

oh well you should have said earlier that some random Souths supporter said that. That changes everything!
I dont want to get rid of him you empty headed nonce, He is clearly an NRL level player at minimum.
I dont think he is suited to the halves at this level and that has been my only criticism all along despite what you idiots keep insinuating.
Wow,! RUOK.

Hahaha you really do talk some bullshit.
Benji cannot be spoken about in the same sentence as Maguire when it comes to coaching.
I didn't compare them as coaches. I said they all end up in the same place when they dont get results and some will be sympathisers and some won't.
Maguire had just as many fans on here saying he couldnt coach, past it, yells too much, over trains them that's why they are fatigued, Madge ball, hasn't kept up with the modern game etc. despite all that he has achieved outside of this club he still managed to fail here and plenty believe and still do that he is a dud

Tucker where do you think Galvin's future is. You reckon once he fills his frame in he could be a ball playing lock in a yeo mould

I thought Galvin was 19? Wasn’t he born at around the same time Tigers were making a run to the 2005 GF? 😜

I think it’s got something to do with poor defence, being a very selfish player in attack, showing a complete lack of effort at times… and having a crack at younger players when they make an error ,when he should be taking a look in the mirror ..
Don’t know if it’s part of Benji’s game plan, but he seems to handle the ball a lot for a centre.

Yes I do but not necessarily in the Yeo mold. I think he gets more involved and wont be as powerful.

I would like to see him base his game on Brad Mackay. For those who dont remember him, Brad was highly skillful and versatile, proving invaluable to his clubs, NSW and Australia. He was also an energiser bunny who just played his guts out every week. As a QLDer, I saw him as a constant threat because he was tireless and kept coming at you. There was one origin where he started at 5/8 opposing the King. Everytime Wally touched the ball, Brad was in his face and smacked him. At halftime there was a reshuffle due to injury and Brad was moved into the pack, with Brandy taking over at 5/8. Lewis ran riot in that second half and we won.

He was one of my favourite players as he was a born footballer. He thrived as a ball playing lock due to his big motor and the skillset of a half and thats where I see a lot of similarities in Galvin and also see his best use.

I thought it was one of Galvin's best games, didn't take Walkers crap either, very good players have time, and he has it.
I realise this is a Galvin thread, but my remark was relative to a AD discussion.
On Galvin, I saw a good performance from him also. If I may add? His defence needs work though, particularly when he’s chasing. He has the speed to touch the shoulder of the ball carrier but that’s as far as it goes.

You can see by how much Glavin gets involved and runs the ball that he just doesn't get tired. He could be an amazing backrower if he thickens up appropriately. A combo of Scott Hill, Brad Mackay and Brad Clyde (style wise I'm talking, not saying he is better then all 3 together).

imagine if the halves are Galvin and Latu next week . Dway-he will be running roughshod over those two …playing inside them most likely
I dont mind Doueihi touching it near opposition goalines. He is big and powerful close to the line and worries defences. He shouldnt be conducting plays outside the 20. Our halves are there for a reason.

Yeah good call on Scotty Hill as well. Deceptively brilliant ballplayer and an energetic hardnut to boot. Clyde was top of the heap. A combo of those three is a future immortal.

Remember him well, such a great player for St George, Illawarra & rep teams.

A ball-playing, roaming, backing-up, cover-defending lock could well be the position for Galvin to take advantage of his assets especially fitness.

If it worked and we had a spine of 1 Bula - 6 Latu - 7 Luai - 13 Galvin - 9 TDS/Api, we would be very dangerous!
