Bateman has been crap for us.

Who knows what will happen, maybe the club is hoping he'll want to stay, maybe they are hoping he'll return with some renewed vigour. At the moment he's garbage and contributing costing us games. His type of experience is not something we want to see passed on.

This could be right & actually smart by us.

Salary cap benefit & I believe he negotiated with Pascoe to spend each off-season and part pre-season in UK. This way maybe he’s back pre-Xmas for full pre-season.

Pretty clear there's more to it than a loan. It's an audition for him to get a pay raise over there. And we get the cash, which you'd assume is going to be spent on someone else here, such as everyone's crush, F. Pole.

Loan deal makes sense to me. Gives us 200k extra in the cap which we can front pay someone this yr and use next yr and our season is over so no problem for us. Also Bateman has previously spent a fair bit of off-season in UK mayby it gets him back earlier as he can see family now instead of post the test series at end of year.

Also he may be more likely to stay if that's what we and he wants if he is their to negotiate and impress in Super League.

This Bateman stuff is beyond bizarre, I can't see the benefit in it unless we are sending him off as a try before you buy deal. Or its a makeweight for another deal for someone else from the ESL.

Apart from not being able to get our coaches, roster and home grounds sorted, we’re right on track to future success !!! Aren’t we ????

We need to take a leaf out of the Dogs recruitment book and buy two no frills hard nosed forwards who produce the goods in defence and have big engines.

Yes it would be great to snag a couple of elite players, but that’s not going to happen. We have for next year a great nine seven and six and a pretty good one, we need to get some workers to support them
