OFFICIAL Lachlan Galvin #277 *Released* Career Discussion.

Obviously players get targeted more when we’re losing but with some of the comments i’m seeing on here are people forgetting he’s in his rookie year?
19 yo rookie.
I’m not sure if he will end up a 5//8 or not but to say he won’t is still to early. The kids got skills trains hard and has a go. He could end up being a 3,4,6,7,11,12,or 13 at this stage. If Luai is 7 and Latu goes well at 6, to fit them all in, I’m thinking centre then lock as he gets older and hopefully fills out. But I also reckon he’ll go to the highest bidder, so we won’t have to worry ourselves too much.

Would you consider him at fullback? He definitely has the motor and the voice. Maybe not as quick as some but I think he has the height, defensively serviceable and can ball play. I also think it will allow him to choose his time in injecting himself in the play and not over play his hand. Bula to centre is not a bad option either.

Galvin has holes in his game- but at 18, that's to be expected. The fact he is competitive at this early stage of his career says a lot.

I'm not convinced his final career position is 6 or 7. But, again, too early to be certain. I believe a move to the 2nd row could produce a Wade Graham type of player. If you have to find a way to fit Luai & Latu Fainu into the team- this could be the way forward.

Regardless, at this stage, he's a super competitive young player that has some holes in his game being exposed while still offering quite a lot overall. Augers well for the future.
Well SAID, good post.
It's been one hell of a debut season for him ... Copped a shit load of knocks and certainly been introed the toughest way imaginable

. But he keeps getting up and going, I admire his persistence hunger and perseverance.
He's a tough young fella with a good attitude and an amazing maturity beyond. His years.
One we must not lose!

Yeah good call on Scotty Hill as well. Deceptively brilliant ballplayer and an energetic hardnut to boot. Clyde was top of the heap. A combo of those three is a future immortal.
Clyde... After Brett kenny Probaly one of my favourite players
Graeme O'Grady while not as good as Clyde Hill Mackay was a magpie long ago similar to this players
I think Brad Mackay future comparison is a very good one and I can very easily picture it in my mind

I'm thinking he may not be an 18yo rookie for the rest of his life, because he's already 19.

Did anyone else have a problem with DWZ tackling Lachy Galvin's legs mid kick with 12 mins to go? I understand it was a different tackle to the usual player charging out and attempting to charge down/put pressure on the legs. We have been penalised many a time for absolute minimal contact in those situations. Galvin's leg was in mid air ready to kick the ball when DWZ made contact with his kicking leg and this caused his injury. If you brush the toe of the kicker and get pinged, is this also not a safety issue/penalty regardless of where or how the kick is taking place?

Lachlan is like a lot of the other promising players coming through, he needs to spend this off season in the gym and with a sprint coach and most importantly a kicking coach.

Likes to win and not lose it is not a bad attribute to have.

I think that is the worst game he has played , but as a young kid this is normal, unfortunately we don’t have the depth to give him a spell , and I don’t think he would be happy been dropped to nsw cup . For some reason we went away from playing out the back , which suits Galvin as he gets to run at the defence and have players coming with him .

I think he will have a forced rest on Thursday with injury. Benji said as much in the presser. I guess that means either Sullivan will return, or Api goes to 7 and TDS 9.

Definitely his worst game yesterday!!!

But you can’t complain considering how good he’s been and how young he is.

Not a fan of Api in the halves.

Bring someone in and play them halves if a spots open!!

Yeah for sure. I just didn’t say FB bcoz we have bula and I would be trying to fit all the talent into one side. But yeah he is a goer and would work hard at fb. I’m not say no to that yet either.

There must be a few Bateman impersonators on here. He has been one of our most consistent all year.

He should not be running the side as a kid, but Sezer’s suspensions, Sullivan’s lack of direction & API being asked to play half have left a lot on his shoulders.

Solid defence, good passing game & not afraid to take the line on. I am not sure what people want from an 18 yo.
