This is a bloke that’s come back late from Christmas holidays both pre-seasons he’s been here isn’t it?
then gone back home for a holiday mid season….

It’s puss poor player management, he hasn’t had a preseason with us yet, and we paid a transfer fee, plus a 4 year contract.
The club should have known we wouldn’t get full value till his third year after finally getting a preseason in with his team, and no one gets younger. It’s just so unprofessional, but so typical.
If he comes back he’d better be back for the first day of preseason. Hopefully he stays in Pomland and it doesn’t cost us too much.

I believe so, that’s what I heard as well they said Bateman has left the club. And super coach said that’s the first i heard of it so i guess it’s true. He also said it’s not my job to know?????

He was asked about the press release being released during the game and said he was only just told that it happened and that it is not his job for the press release.

He never stated he did not know what happened to Bateman.

The club has a lot to answer for to allow this to happen... But it also shows he's taking the piss and not really all on board... It's unprofessional and half heartrd.
He was a poor choice as Co captain the time he just wanted to act the tough guy and forgot about footy, not any decent example for all our young bloke to look to... And the fact he's bailed - well maybe he's good on the knuckle but I'd rather someone with a bit more resolve to have my back.
He's dogged it. Very low.

BATEMNAN plays yesterday we probably go closer to the win he was missed in defence as they were going up the middle with ease and The big prop Richo pulled plug on would just get tackled stand up walk 2 mtrs forward , ref allowed it we did not stand our ground , and agree club poor decision but the player to leave when his team is on the bottom if disgraceful. hooe him and Benji did have a blow up,and he stays in Pommy land

What do we make of Benji's reply when he asked if he knew JB was leaving? Not a good look at the best of times when you say you weren't aware of it...The better answer may have been "The club and I are aligned on decisions that are made" - unless this is not true..? All may not be well what appears in Tigerland...

Did he? Or are you referring to the post match press conference when he said he wasn’t aware a press release regarding Batemans departure had been put out during the game?

Not sure mate. Given that it was reported Bateman told team mates at training on Tuesday, you would have to assume Benji knew he was going back to England. I could definitely see he wouldn’t have known about a press release mid game. It was certainly strange.

Benji very clearly said in the presser on Friday that an announcement was probably going to come out on Thursday arvo.

He was well aware the news was coming out. Likewise he has said many times that stuff is not his job and he focuses on coaching.

Sometimes our fans are worse than the people on 360.

Add his bullshit penalties every week to your equation. We wouldve been no closer to a win.

That may be so...but when the message is not quite from the same hymn sheet, it does make you wonder who is telling a fib...Ultimately, what they tell us (and what we see) is all we can comment on. Beyond that, we are speculating.

Unfortunately Bateman has been garbage especially of late. Shadow of the former player he was at the Raiders. Too small build for his position. Just another player we don't need lacking in height and size. Has very bad discipline too gives away so many penalties. Can't wait to see the back of him tbh.

The way it should be. He is still a contracted Tiger.

Bateman does slot of tackles and hit up’s big runs sideways a lot, gives away a lot of penalties and doesn’t offer enough threat best the position line. To me he’s not big enough and I don’t think he’s a good leader.
Happy for him go stay in England. Let the rebuild continue.
