Navren Willet is another who will probably see a debut sometime this year or next. When he played in the trials this year he handled the physicality pretty well, I’d say probably still a bit away but watching the NSW cup he used his height (6”7) greatly to his advantage. Again defensively seems to be a bit of a struggle so I’d say until he can be more consistent I doubt Benji will chuck him in.
Onto someone who deserves a debut now Tim Johanssenn. This bloke has been great in NSW cup the whole year and in the game against the warriors scored the game winning try. I’d like to repeat that he’s been doing it this whole year so it’s not just a one off. Drop Stef for this week to focus on contract talks etc and chuck this bloke in. I hope we can sign him cause it’d be a major oversight to let him go. He is fit, fast and strong something we lack aside from Pole.
These are his stats from this year:
12 Appearances
2 Tries
38 Tackle Breaks
10 Offloads
133 Average RM
90% Tackle Efficiency

I'd like to see Johannssen get a go at lock. Mobile, skillful and great attitude. He really looks like the type that comes from the clouds as a 22 year old. He just needs a chance. I don't see him as a front rower in the NRL, not with us anyway, as he lacks that physical presence, but as a lock I can definitely see it.
