Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Benji will only get better results with a better team , current team can’t win the comp now or ever , Bulldogs we’re in the same place when Ciraldo arrived , but they changed a heap of players and improved , that’s the only way we will improve , we need to replace players and not 1 or 2 it’s more like 5 or 6 min , we have 2 coming and 1 is a gun that’s a start , we just can’t buy poorly like previous Years gone by

Lol.

Those close to the club know benji was doing the coaching.

But sure.

This is the same rhetoric when people said sheens was a bad idea and everyone frothed on the 2005 reunion.

Let’s see next year.

My opinion is Benji will be gone by round 10
My opinion is,
Benji will have 5 or 6 Wins then,
Won't be a reason to let him go.

I hope after all this Stef stuff has been striving us all up Richo can finally come out this week and give us a name of new player coming to the club , and prey it’s not a reserve grader .
we also need him to come out wth
Pole upgrade and extended 3 years
Ruben Porter upgrade and extended 2 years
Solomona upgrade and extend 2 years
we then still need to replace Stef = Hunt
we still need another additional prop
back row ,

No
Stop, Please Stop.

We, as a club have a serious and fundamental problem. We CANNOT and I repeat CANNOT recruit our way out of this.
We could be signing Payne Hass and Carrigan and still not be winning. ...

Training and playing soft.
Running out of gas by minute 60.

Lets fix the training culture, lets start training players hard and getting club attitude and club culture sorted.

I think that even if results don’t improve, he might actually survive for another whole season.

And because of the intense social and personal and pr investment in him, he will be asked to step down and a ready made excuse provided.

Or I said before, we might make him a coaching co-ordinator and give him a cosy office job, fancy title but well out of harms way. He will tire of that as decisions are taken off him.

But then eventually he can go back to the media.

If Benji isn’t coaching, it’s not the end of the world! He’s very wealthy, he’ll be ok.

When he’s not at work he lives in an affluent suburb in a designer house with lots of trinkets and modern art.

He has a lovely black grand piano which is also very impressive.

Yeah I haven't seen much of him. Seems a better prospect than Tumeth who also carries a smaller frame. Tumeth out, Hassett in as a project player that the club can hopefully develop.
If he’s not ready yet , and may need 2 seasons to get to 1st grade, DONT sign him , we have enough of these , they will come good . We need to buy workers who can play now ,

Seems the writings on the wall for him I'd dare say hes one of the guys Richo had a chat with after round seven. I'm torn on him cause Benji just helped get his signature across the line last year, now he wants him out. I feel bad for the guy. In saying that though we don't need him after this year. Once Luai gets here it'll be him and Galvin / Fainu.
He was a bad signing from the get go. Not what we needed as a half, but some of his commitment plays were atrocious.

And for the Benji loyalists weighing up my opinion, my claim to fame is having a son who

A. Is in his teens
B. Supports the Panthers and
C. Enjoys listening to country music.

That’s not much right with b and c, but such is the life of us paid up tigers members.

and whats wrong with the teens?this whole thread is about who what when,no 1 agrees with anything ,but who could argue that the kids(1st grade}haven't put in n shined this year, while theres hope , smiley face.old has beenz on lucrative deals.Shirley, theres a better way

I didn't rate sheens as a coach after 2010. He was showing signs that he wasnt up to speed with the way the game was being played. I also didn't want to see him back at the helm this time around.

I read “ surely” the first time and had to double take

That’s how rubbish our outside backs have been for a decade - we think ‘OK’ reserve graders are the ducks nuts…
💯 which of our back 5 would start at any other NRL club ?
Bula would come into contention to start as fullback at Raiders, Bulldogs, Dragons and Warriors.
Tupou who is leaving us would come into contention to start as winger at quite a few clubs and I’d say Staines would come into contention to start at a couple of other clubs.
Olam and To’a while currently injury riddled would both struggle to get a start anywhere else and I’d say Doueihi with his utility value would at least come into contention to be part of the 17 at a few other clubs.
Apart from them nobody else would be anywhere near first grade at any other NRL club, although I do think a coach like Wayne Bennett could possibly get through and get Naden to play to his potential as a centre/winger and he does have NRL ability when he plays to his potential.
With Naden on the outter we will need 2 NRL quality outside backs at the very least to give us any chance in 2025.

You need help mate!

Where was all this unhinged angst for the past 10 years under Pascoe and Lee?

That was more Staines than him, but he is weak there as well. Thought he put in one of his better performances in attack so far! Remember it takes time to adapt to first grade.
Best fit for best price currently - F$%#%%R%Y%ing easy equation!!

He can tackle - UNLIKE DOUGHEI!

Kids support winning teams dopey!!

When I was growing up late 70s/80s - my peers were Parra - Manly - Easts and Saints fans despite never living or having connection t0 those regions...

I would say your kid is typical - but given your posts I can understand him also probably also being intellectually challenged due to genealogy!
