Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Absolutely. I hope we land Corey. I swear both times we played Raiders last year he saved 3 or 4 tries against us just from effort plays alone. He was a player I was hoping was out against us in our games this year.

He gets picked in the 13 jersey each week without hesitation, is a physical presence on the field and will have a dig/put in the effort plays. At 26 he should be still coming into some of his best years as a forward too.

Sure there might be the odd hot headed penalty given away, but let's be honest, the refs will ping us for something regardless of him being there or not.

For me, going after him is a no brainer and helps us start to build a stronger pack.
Hi mate I totally agree we need a goer in the pack and he is exactly that

Walker would be great utility value. Can play lock, hooker, five eight, centre, probably second row at a pinch. Has a touch of class too having been previously a half / five eight. In fact, he's a beeter player than the Bulldogs utility signings, and those have worked our pretty well for them.
I would pass on Horsburgh. All he has going for him is "angry". Can you imagine the penalty count between him and Seyfarth and even worse if Bateman returns. Nathan Brown would have been a much better angry option, but we passed on the opportuntiy to sign him last offseason. Of the players that have apparently been given permission to look elsewhere, the only one I would think about is Shaun Lane. And only then on a 2 year deal. At least he would be another big, mobile body on the edge to complement Fainu, and he has an offload in him as well. Not bad targets for Luai and Galvin to be able to hit close to the line.
Ur jumping all over horsburgh , he really only got himself in trouble with the refs yes year . He was good enough to play SOO and was the raiders best player for a couple of years . Maybe something has upset him down in Canberra and that’s why he’s gone of the rails , he is what we need get over this , we don’t want this one because he gives away penalties, or he’s got a off the field record , if the NRL will register them then it’s good enough for me

All the talk is he is going to Saints, the 360 mug journo’s have it as already done pending his release from Canberra

The way Richo does business now means we won't usually hear much about us going in for players. We dont even know if the club is genuinely interested.

The 360 journos had Stefano last week as basically a done deal to the Dogs and Turuva to Dragons was supposedly done and dusted before we landed the deal with him.

I don't think this one will drag on for too long, so we should find out where he goes soon enough.

Nah I don’t think the red horse would be a good signing, mentally I think he has some issues, which I hope he sorts, we are not the club that’s going to elevate his game.

I think Dylan walker could be a solid buy

This might feel a little greedy or indifferent to other fellow forumers - my motivation for having Luai is that we might keep Galvin.
I don't think galvin is staying to learn behind luai. He's a big fan of cleary and munster. He'll be gone by 2026. Time to invest in latu fainu once he's fit. Galvin is a great player but his best position isn't in the halves, and I fear he will leave if he doesn't get what he wants

I was a big fan of Andrew john's, but I didn't change teams and follow Newcastle.
I was a bit fan of Stacey Jones, but I didn't change teams and follow the warriors.

Beggars can't be choosers. If there's any chance then we have to go for it. Fans are always finding excuses not to sign players that can make us better

Brett Kenny and Brad Clyde were my favourite non Magpie olayers

This seasons over... spoon more than likely ours... I'm looking to next year (yes.. there's always. Next year) as some form of positivity & hope.
I really hope Benji puts his ego aside and does what's best for the club & gets a highly experienced assistant.
A good tough off season with all our yound blokes coming thru with Luai's and Turuva should do them all a tonne good stuff fitness speed and combos... Hoping hoping hoping!
