While it looks poor on paper it is stronger in defence than having AD in the side. Alaimalo without AD inside him can do his job in defence instead of having to come in and try to cover the liability we have had playing inside him. While we need to pressure DCE it won't distract him from his game; he handles it OK at SOO level we won't cause him problems. But we can, with attitude in defence, nullify his runners. How Mason handles the mountain of high balls he will receive is something I am concerned about though - not much we can do except trust the Leichardt curse affects Brooks the same as when he was playing with us and he kicks it dead or too low to be effective.

If we can score points to cover the inevitable pressure that will be applied to our edges, and the points that will leak, and stay in touch a win is not out of reach. While arguably we don't have same strike in attack (depends on how Tupou comes back) if our attitude is right in defence we can build off it.

A win this week will come from the attitude we bring to defence and the enthusiasm we bought to the games against both the Sharks and Canberra. Given the spoon is on the line and we have a week's rest ahead of us we need to out enthuse them in the fist 15 minutes and leave nothing in the tank at the end of 80 minutes.

I'm not confident of a win - but I have an inkling that this will be closer than most expect. Why? NFI, I just feel it!

Now this team to play Manly leaves me feeling its hopeless .
- Picking Ailamalo again ? He let the Knights rookie winger get 4 tries but somehow he will stop Saab ? Don't think so !
- instead of TDS being in the 17 weve got Latu .The former is better
- Junior T in for Douehi - why pick a winger who hasnt played NRL for many months and in a few weeks is a Dolphin ! To play center .Pick someone who might be part of our future !

I actually think Latu and TDS rotating in the 14 role is a positive. It's limited minutes so the time spent back in cup gives them a chance to keep racking up big minutes regularly enough while they continue to keep getting tastes od firsts

These tries were all caused by Douli rushing in and leaving Alaimalo defending an overlap. Doesn't mean he'll defend well against Saab but I think it's unfair to blame him for the knights loss.

If he isn't fit, get his match fitness up in reserve grade. Even if he plays 20 minutes in there. His injury was ACL, not a tendon or muscle strain..
