With Horsburgh and Bird being played out in the media you can pretty much guarantee WT will not sign them (per Richo’s previous comments on player negotiations).

We don’t have enough top 30 spots to waste one on BirdAgree. Bird at the right money & length of contract could be a great pick up. Competitor with genuine footy nous. Something we lack.
So any reporter can say ,OH the tigers are looking at xxx , then we just say sorry we can’t sign that bloke , have that as ur high horse u won’t be signing any one , it’s one way of still sitting at the bottom of the packWith Horsburgh and Bird being played out in the media you can pretty much guarantee WT will not sign them (per Richo’s previous comments on player negotiations).
It’s the player manager talking to the media part and Richo’s previous comments on same.So any reporter can say ,OH the tigers are looking at xxx , then we just say sorry we can’t sign that bloke , have that as ur high horse u won’t be signing any one , it’s one way of still sitting at the bottom of the pack
Over joyed , just saying u just can’t have a one rule policy, yes if it comes from ur camp , but u can’t expect to have everyone else outside ur organisation to do the same , it’s just commonsenseIt’s the player manager talking to the media part and Richo’s previous comments on same.
Good to see you woke up happy after our win last night.
Before we sign any externals, we MUST resign Pole and Sione Fainu… both are gun forwards
Hope it doesn’t go the same way as Stepo then , wonder way it’s taking so long , u would have thought it would have been done months agoBe surprised if Fainu leaves, the boys look very happy and are helping each other develop. But he needs to stay. Can see a difference in the middle when he is on.
Pole I’m not convinced about, Storm want him but it’s up to Richo to close the deal out.
Probably due to lack of top 30 spots.Hope it doesn’t go the same way as Stepo then , wonder way it’s taking so long , u would have thought it would have been done months ago
Faataape is a player , first season in a new completion, structure etc. give him an off season, I will bet my left nut he will be very good for us. Relax. From tonight Alaimalo, Faataape & Tupou not with us next year.
Faataape on a development deal again for me.
Backline has options for next year.
Big thing now will be middles & 1 more edge.
I thought our attack and defence improved when Klemmer was off and to a lesser degree [defence wise] when Stef was off.Be surprised if Fainu leaves, the boys look very happy and are helping each other develop. But he needs to stay. Can see a difference in the middle when he is on.

IMO he is getting better, in particular his defence. More head on tackles.Faataape is a player , first season in a new completion, structure etc. give him an off season, I will bet my left nut he will be very good for us. Relax.
Faatape is like a 75% tackler meaning he misses 1 in 4 tackles. that's a real problem when your a solo defender out wide. If he improves that he has a bucket tonne of potential. Like many have said a full preseason and a body build up and that could change. But I don't think he can be a first choice for us if we are serious until his defence is fixed.IMO he is getting better, in particular his defence. More head on tackles.
I think based on how he's improved this last month that he's now well ahead of To'a, Naden and Feledy on the depth chart.Faataape is a player , first season in a new completion, structure etc. give him an off season, I will bet my left nut he will be very good for us. Relax.
Most impressive thing is 15 tackles and only one miss.I came on the forum for the pure reason to say what a great game faaataape had, i'd be agreeing to say top 30 deal in 2026, he will be a beast and a competentent replacement for Olam then
To be honest, when he hasn't been pressured by the backs around him, he has been quite a consistent defenderMost impressive thing is 15 tackles and only one miss.
Even taking into account retaining Pole and Sione Fainu we have 1 spare top 30 spot left… and that includes Sullivan and NadenProbably due to lack of top 30 spots.
