Surprised they bother to measure 5 metre runs.

Now do a list of the amount of breaks made, runs per game, metres per game, tries scored, inside 20m hitups, kick returns, 9 out of the 10 players would be still near top tier list, ....................Forbes Datsun however.
 
I like Charlie... cops a lot of flack on here but as someone who attends a lot of games he's one of the few players that actually has a dig each & every single week. He's not a winger that we should rely on for yardage carries but he's a great finisher & surprisingly he does a lot of talk out there rallying the troops. If you can upgrade on him you would but I'd love for him to hang around as solid depth.

He is signed for next year so he will probably remain at the club… they arent trying to force him out like others …interesting to hear Richo‘s interview this morning where he mentioned he is still after an outside back …so would think if they sign someone else in addition to the other two already signed ..might mean Charlie might drop out of the 17…

Stains would be the perfect depth player, NRL experience and can fill for 1 or 2 games here and there when the real NRL player is injured. He should not be anywhere near the first 17 if the side is a serious football entity.

Richo understands clearly the majority of the NRL squad this year are depth players at best. 2026 will be a very good recruiting year.

I agree. That's why I think Benji is giving him an opportunity at centre (rather than putting Tupou there).

I have Staines ahead of To'a on the 'keep' list.

If he can put 7 or 8 kgs id give him a run in the centres. Couldnt be worse than Dooiue or Faautape.

Yes ….good depth ..but he is overpaid for that role at $350k….. can live with it for one year though...

This was the rumour of what was on offer last offseason …he signed quite late you might recall …November …. supposedly this was on less money than what he was on previously..

If you are talking about what Richo said ..it was during his interview this morning on SEN which was posted here in the Richo thread

He is just too small to play in current NRL. Players like To'o can get away with it as his powerful leg drive is on par with a front rower, the 1990s build winger type just cant be put on the field anymore. Wingers/Centres need to be 6foot plus and 100kegs. Most are bigger than forwards these days, used for the 30m hit ups out of their own end and the flying jumps for tries down the other end. You just cant afford to play small wingers/centres anymore, tigers get pumped by this week after week. Its bleeding obvious.

I agree , I mentioned this a while back that Charlie with 5 to 7 kg added to his weight and moved to centre could be good , he has speed and he is not afraid to carry the dirty runs and return hit ups , he is a keeper and I would extend him into 2026 as a centre
