Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I don't think I'd say Hunt is 'unfit', I just don't think he's as effective playing 'big minutes'.

He's an impact player, who would need to be surrounded by effort players.

I did like the following bit:

"In securing the services of another crucial member of his NRL squad for two more years, Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon praised Hunt for his commitment and believes there is still plenty of upside in the burly front rower.

“We are proud of Royce’s effort and development over the last 12 months,” Fitzgibbon said. “He’s worked very hard on himself, has potential for even more and we also think he’s shown a real care and respect for his teammates and club.”

When trying to build a culture- I would assume the recruiters would be looking for more than what the player brings on the field.

Remember also- Hunt was part of the Samoan World Cup squad. Who else do we know was part of that squad?

Jaxson Rahme returning to the club from the Knights and Eiden Ackland son of well known Kiwi coach John Ackland from somewhere in New Zealand, what more could you ask for Ink ?
You generally stay neutral on the potential recruitment front, who would you like to see us recruit?
Leo Thompson... Hunt would.be OK I guess though he doesn't do much for.me
I know there's.not much available right now but another big fassst center

We have a heap of forwards who play big minutes but provide little impact. Having a solid bench prop that makes an impact changes the dynamic of our side. If Miller, Fainu or Faagutu pick up on his aggression he could change the mindset of our group and help them kick on.
We do not need another 40-50 min prop.

Need to get the Samoan connection because that makes all the difference

Not sure about Hunt, I think if Miller can drop 5-7 kg in the off season he can do the same 25-30 minute stint with huge scope for improvement.
No way , miller has shown nothing , and I don’t think it’s all his fault, the coaching staff have to carry a lot of the blame , why is he still 130 kg at this stage of the season, no line speed , no speed hitting the line , buggered after 10 minutes. So is no one of the staff not pouring fitness into him and making sure he eats s the right food .

HUNT is not a lazy forward , and if everyone watched the sharks games , they only use him in every short spells , because they get big minutes out of there starting props , it’s not hunt’s fault, it’s just the way the sharks work .

Not unfit?? You can visibly see how tired he is on the field after 10-15 minute stints at the sharks every game. He might be a strong guy but he is clearly not ‘fit’, everyone on here can see that. Some players are better with some extra size on them but he won’t be anywhere near as effective if he is on for longer then 15 minute stints at a time
Another Miller?

I actually agree with your first point. There is a player there that can make an impact at the top level. The coaching stuff have to sort out his diet and get him right. The fact that he's still doing okay at NSW Cup level despite being 19 and way overweight is insane.
