Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Birds a solid player but not sure if there is a need for 3 injury prone centres in 1 roster. Coming off the bench as a impact 13 would work well but I think his body wouldnt last long in the middle

It's been reported previously he was prepared to throw in the big bickies but wanted representation on the board.
Obviously, like just about everybody else, he must have had his doubts regarding their competence.
Seems they said thanks, but no thanks... or he'd be there now.

But the option for full (instead of partial) representation on the WT board for Balmain members has been purposely left open by HBG and Wests.

He could easily make Balmain solvent again to achieve this.

Unless, it's not enough?

But, it would be great to have him onboard.

I'd say Bird takes a spot in the centres as he has done all season with the Dragons. What is our biggest areas of deficiency in defence? Out wide. This is the opportunity to make Doueihi a depth player. Bird plays one side, Olam the other. I think this strengthens the team dramatically in defence. I wonder if Doueihi gets a suggestion to try the wing at his size?

Forward pack next season:

8. Hunt
9. Koroisau
10. Klemmer
11. Sam Fainu
12. Seyfarth
13. Horsburgh

14. Twal
15. Pole
16. Sione Fainu
17. Joe Stimson/Dylan Walker

If the signing of Bird means Doobie plays reggies then STFU and TMM$$$.

They were totally incompetent and inept, it's proven with the lovely building they left behind for all their members, noone would have done that intentionally I believe they thought they were doing what's best for the joint, but it just proves they were in over their head. Meriton should have got involved as soon as the State govt started talking about looking at the site, wether anything would be diffrent who knows, but with Meritons contacts in state and fed govt the result would have been much better and the board would have got sound advice because Harry really does love Balmain
The council have been largely to blame for the the state of the site and why it wasn't developed years ago.

$2 mill - Hunt would be what between $400-$500K. Bird probably similar depending what the Dragons pitch in.

Horsburgh would be similar again. But we would need to release someone I think... Pending spots.

Whoever we land after Bird, I'd say we still have a fair bit of change... To'a with back ended deal?
Do clubs still even do back ended deals? They are recipes for disaster.
