Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Kobe Hetherington won’t leave the Broncos either, wait and see.
It doesn’t hurt to try, but better to jump on the players who are either off contract or definitely available to sign,

Behind a paywall by Corey has chosen to stay with Canberra which looked fairly obvious after the scenes on the weekend. Decision made after starting the last 3, effectively dead rubber games.
Oh well all eggs to the hethrinton basket, should try get that done as soon as possible
Or Bunty Ofoa!

I think he's good as gone imo. Lock is his position and he won't be unseating Carrigan and looks as though the Donkeys want to bring in some more middle experience (i.e. Christian Welsh) so he may feel vulnerable.

It'll be whether he wants to buy in to the Tigers like Hunt & Bird.

His manager only came out less than a week ago saying they had been given permission to look elsewhere because he wants to be a starting player. He won’t start for Brisbane for next season so I’d say he’s as good as gone

Kobe is definitely good enough to be a starting 13 and I don’t think he would have an issue signing with us if the money is right, but the Broncos have no depth whatsoever in the back row, they would be crazy to let him go.
To me Carrigan is getting very close to a permanent move to prop which would essentially free up the lock spot for Kobe.
Williams although a couple of years older, is just as good as Kobe and is currently off contract. I have a feeling he’s not entirely happy coming off the bench and will be very open to being a starting 13.

Haha, why?

Personally, I think it's better to jump on the best players, whether they're 'available' or not.

I don't care whether they're free agents now, off contract for next year or being shopped on the DL.

Also, Kobe has been given explicit permission to explore his options by the Broncos, so that makes him 'definitely able to sign'.

Sad but unfortunately true
Don’t underestimate what the pressure of keeping your position can do to improve players performance.
If someone like Doueihi knows he will be playing reserve grade if his defence is not rock solid, I reckon it will quickly improve.
