Yeah as much as I’m not keen, at $400 for two years it’s borderline whether he’s a good signing. But if he can stay on the park and keep players like Doobie and Fartape in reggies then he might be a good stepping stone till we have or get someone better. Will bird play centre or lock for us though?

Well, done Richo, 2 years is fantastic. Bird is a competitor, we need more of these types of experienced players at the club not necessarily for their game wining clutch moments but as older heads for the 400 kids we have in the joint. Perfect buy for building positive club culture. Jerry, Hunt now Bird. With Ice and Batemen pissing off I feel we need another one or two 27/28+ year olds (150 gamers) to build a completive squad. Richo has more news about to drop.

Dead set I would take Bird on 1 leg then him as he is hopeless, and they are just attacking him.

I'd take 2013 Joel Reddy or 2014 keith Lulia or 2017 Idris or 2021 James Roberts over Faataape 🤣 anyday haha

I don’t hate the Bird signing I think he’s a stop gap for centre 2nd row bench, only 2 yrs not huge money. It isn’t exciting but on his day he def can be good, I think this s where we are as a club. Plugging a few holes til we can get the right fit or a kid comes on and demands to be picked through performances.

Squad is looking better as it stands. Need big leaps from Bula, Galvin, Sam Fainu, Pole. Most importantly Benji has to get better.

The pack needs strengthening Hunt is a powerhouse but we need to add a few workers that hit Kobe Hetherington, Jack Williams would be ideal.

Be interesting who leaves that we don’t know about. Naden, Sullivan, Toa, Lobb, Staines, Tumeth, Feledy, Matamua would be candidates.

Naden and Staines first off. They are not NRL standard. Actually all the players you mentioned should pack their bags

Well they all cover the same position, we only need 8 weeks per dude.

So by the sounds of it we might have a weekly centre rotation of
Olam/Doueihi/To’a/Bird. 🔥 🔥 🔥
Hopefully at least ONE of them is fit and healthy each week throughout the season. Maybe we can cut them in half and swap some lower limbs around to make sure of it.

Not seen Bird play much but if he can be a forward like most are saying then I’d say it’s a reasonable signing for a utility role on the bench (or even starting) with TDS to replace Api, 2 other specialist forwards and Bird to do whatever is needed. Also good for depth when we inevitably have 10 injuries at once again. Unfortunately, it seems like Jack will also probably be injured when this happens 🤷‍♂️.

Another thing is that this adds to the long list of 2025 contracted Tigers players with a first name beginning with J. Jack, Jahream, Jarome, Jayden, Jeral, John*, Jordan, Josh, Justin, Justin. Who’s next?

This is the correct opinion.
Bloke instinctly breaks tackles, and gives a go defending better then most of our outside backs and is the only one who cops it
