Richo going off at coaching staff?

I hate to have to say it, but this is not beyond the realms of expectations when it falls on him to dig our way out of it.

Sponsors, members, fans and other stakeholders are all within their rights to complain about a 40 point flogging at home with some kind of progressive season within reach.

A win and the exorcism of the spoon would have provided us with a massive boost and justification of all the changes and hard work.

Now he’s stuck for many months selling a product that hasn’t delivered and he has to invoke faith instead of being able to claim results.

He should be furious, I’m glad he is.

I’d be calling for his immediate sacking if he wasn’t delivering a few home truths to the people who were ultimately responsible for preventing the massacre.

For us Richovian scholars, putting on his CEO used fedora for a second, the coaches and the side really screwed him over. An unmitigated disaster.

We take him to task often enough, but fairs fair, Richo sure as hell didn’t deserve that.

At any rate, the embarrassing result will only serve to empower Richo to swing the axe freely and with purpose over the pre-season because a fourth spoon and further miserable results is untenable and hb simply won’t wear it.

I suspect more than a few surgical strikes. Hopefully the gear steward survives this year.

Spoon Bowl result won’t define us, says Tigers CEO

Wests Tigers chief executive Shane Richardson insists their season won’t be defined by the outcome of the Spoon Bowl, as the club looks to avoid finishing last for the third straight year.

It seems like pretty much everyone, except a small number of very loyal fans living on fantasy island, could see a third spoon as a possibility. Richo’s right, a spoon doesn’t define us as a club, however, 3 spoons and heel dragging on the complete implementation of the Crawford - Barnier review as promised, may very well.

Yes, Richo was wise to add a public disclaimer before spoon bowl In case we botched it, which we did.

So he can rely on this premonition if he needs to and if we did win it, he could take the glory!

So set himself up for a win/win regardless of result.

As for the assessment of the review, it’s possible we could implement every single step and still get the spoon and the assumption of adverse consequences if we don’t implement every step is unproven.

But I say that in the basis that I actually became a member because hb took emergency measures to rescue the club from the people who delivered unto us the previous spoons. It was a vote of confidence in change.

I join in the recent observation here, that the legacy ensured Benji was never playing with a full deck of cards.

Not to suggest he’s been an outstanding coach. By his own admissions he’s struggled quite a bit. But he claims he’s growing and his day will come.

Richo went in hard to support Benji, when it may have been wiser to give him the pre spoon bowl disclaimer.

But it is what it is.

Eventually, Benji will leave the job one way or the other. How and when who knows?!
