Pretty much every player in the NRL gets linked to the club by someone here …so you could say that every new signing is predicted by someone ..

It was a moving presser that day, very flattering for Benji and he was wonderfully composed when Ivan’s comments were raised.

Im over false dawns and soap opera promises, but JL is a genuine rugby league super power and will change a lot in attack and defence.

His optimism and ambition is relentless and his game is streets ahead of anyone in our roster.

He’s a tide that will lift all ships, we have to work hard to keep everyone with him.

Playing with Api and the other panthera should jolt the old Penrith footy memory into action.

It will be fascinating to see it re-emerge with modern tweaks and hopefully enthusiastic youngsters spurred on.

Nothing wrong with versatility, but we need that versatility in the backrow right now. And we still need a prop. We lack depth and having Sam Fainu and Seyfarth with Porter and Sukkar as depth simply isn't going to be good enough. Adding Bird helps, but I can see Benji will move him around to plug gaps rather than locking down a position.

This guy would be a good addition, but I will always say, the price is what determines whether or not a player should come regardless of talent. If we can get him on 300k to 350k and release Bateman, that would be good business by the club and leave us money for a prop.

Talk is he's likely to accept playing in the Newcastle Comp so a decent Train and Trial deal or min wage may be enough to get him

There are similarities in the games of Luai and Koroisau. They both play eyes up footy rather than relying on too much structure. The problem we may have is that instinctive players need instinctive teammates who don’t miss the jump when an attacking opportunity presents itself.

The team and coaches need to work overtime to get some cohesion going in the pre-season. I think our game next year will be based on lots of movement off the ball in attack. If we send our spine players up one out we’ll continue to be the same clunky attacking team that’s won 3 spoons.

Yes, hes already reached the heights of the game and indulged in the best it has to offer.

But he remains restless and he wants to take on a bigger and much more difficult assignment. Courageous!

His impact should be greater than that of GI when he left Melbourne to play for South’s.

Because he’s so outspoken as a personality. G I was more introverted a figure, because his game said everything!!

I also think he can help Benji and the coaching staff with his insights and winning experience.

So he’s emotionally invested and will chuck everything he’s got into us.

Yea let's hope he can help change the club to a winning culture. Especially on the training side of things .getting those 1%ers right ,making that extra effort .

You can just picture all the Fainus etc wanting to impress him and seeking his approval.

He’s left a life of relative comfort and familiarity to one of enormous challenges and where the usual way of life is footy hardship.

The opposite of Stef!

Api has always said how much the affection from us fans means to him and I think JL will be shocked and awed as well.

Bloody hell i watch a snippet from must have been that 100% league show Gould is on and it didnt paint a pretty picture for JAC. If they haven't already there goes his contract free's up huge coin for them. Wouldn't surprise me if someone spiked his drink and then the copper's were tipped on his whereabouts. Anything to get out of an over priced contract, they've been looking to shaft JAC for the best part of 12 months.
He could be a handy pick up on the cheap $2-300 could get him over now he's blown up his career.

Steph is in for a huge rude awakening when he gets down there I reckon.

I know we have been let down with older players of late , but as I have stated before NEXT YEAR has to be the turning point we fail to make the 8 or just miss out , it will set our club back another 5-10 years , the kids will be lining up to jump ship , THIS is where we need a very strong FORWARD pack , so that are gun 1/2s can go forward , if it means giving RCG a 3 year contract at $600 to $650 , I say do it , he punches holes in attack and is a good defender, no one knows how he will preform over 3 years but then again he might fall of the tree after 1year , we bought a GUN 1/2 and have a GUN 5/8 and a improving fullback , but they need a strong pack , I think it’s worth the Risk

He reminds me a bit like Tyson Frizel [33yrs next month]. Turns up every game.
Rarely injured, strong attack and defence and plays long minutes.
IMO worth the risk $600 x 3 yrs. We need a strong pack to keep young gun backs happy.

If we could get him on any cheap deal that was outside the top 30, but where he is still available to play NRL if needed would be an astute buy. If he’d take a TandT I’d be in. Experience and versatility.
