Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Ponga and Walsh are flashy….They are the Benji Marshal of fullbacks - fun to watch but not dependable. Both can be really off on occasion.
The best in the game, and by some margin are Teddy, Turbo and Dylan. The first two have ruled for years but Edwards has caught them.
On 2024 form, Ted is the best performing and I’d say he’ll win Dally M fullback of the year.
That doesn’t mean I think he is the best all round fullback. Edwards is for mine, but he has had a great year.
Love it or loave it, Teddy has become a bit of a Cameron Smith at fullback. He still has speed and agility, but he is constantly out placing his rivals with the way he plays his options. That said. It’s been proven that his style suits the Roosters uniquely. He tends to need width to play and options around him, he also tends to touch the ball more than his rivals which can make it difficult to work around him. Like Cameron Smith it can be boring watching him continue to do what he does, understandably Walsh and Ponga are more attractive to watch, with their ability to break and make something out of their own run and shape. Not sure where Tommy fits in? A fit Tommy is probably the best fullback in the game.

You'd take Fox?

He let his team down so much in the most important game they've had in years.

Off field stuff, every year.
Getting KOd at the Koori KO last year, testing positive this year (and lying) + the injuries and age.... I think he's not even worth a second thought.

He's contributed more to the Dogs this year than Naden, To'a, Doueihi, Feledy, Staines have for us combined...
So Yeah, I'm at least looking into it.
- Oh, And he single handedly wins games.

If a player Bullshitting in the NRL was a punishable offence - There'd be no players.

It's OK Demps, We'll watch him go to another club that finishes higher on the ladder than us next year
- And then we'll just blame the halfback

U forgot one , the BLACK FLASH he was one of the very best
Loved the flash, unbelievable speed, balance and vision but wingers back than we’re not subjected to the aerial assault of today and we’re not used to make dirty yardage. Very hard to make comparisons with the modern day wingers.

Far from the best winger but I always loved John Davidson for Balmain. Always got the job done and could mix it with the hard men

Heard some Intel he's already off to NZ.

He could've won em the semi...
But his actions let his team down.
Not ready for the crocodile roll.

A few times i saw players square up to Davidson and then just back off.You are right he was a rough and tough winger

We should target Harrison Graham. Dolphins player who I think has a lot of potential. Get on the phone richo
Would have been a young, bigger and better option than Tristan Hope.
I know Hope is only on a Train & Trial deal, but we are now not going to sign another number 9 as we already have our quota.

Then list the forwards, interchange and some depth, and you realise your wonderful backline isn't going to do shit.
Yes that's true. Had you bothered to read my other posts, you'd realise I agree that our forward depth is poor unless we get lucky with some player movement in the off season.

You can only sign what is available. We may be waiting to bolster the forwards in 2026.

I think even uncle Wayne would have problems keeping souffs in check with the Fox, Walker, Latrell and Wighton in the side. A time bomb waiting to explode.
We can only hope and pray this is the case. Souths mate has been a bit too cocky the last few years.
