Just a hypothesis but maybe we had to prioritise one of Large or Makasini. Given our depth in the 6 department perhaps all our eggs are in Makasini’s basket.

If I'm being offered more - and it is obviously not a detriment to my career, I'm taking that.

But I am confused as to why we allowed him to walk, seemingly, easily.

Large is obviously talented but I also think we need to develop these players at a pace which is optimal for both parties. If he proves himself and is readily for NRL the by all means. But if the reports are true and he is being promised a NRL debut next year then I’d rather let him move on. Debuts are earned and not given.

can’t see him staying mate. they’ve always played together and we have Tallyn and Haywood already on the books. great 9 though and much better suited to league than his brother as others have said earlier.

As a few others on here have already said I believe Joey Walsh is the plan for half back. Captain for the the under 20’s Australian Union team earlier this year & was in the roosters Jnr system. If that doesn’t work out I’d say you are on the money tho, long way off before needing to worry about any of that thankfully

I don't know why everyone is so upset about large

We have an abundance of depth in the halves with players who can play now. 2 of those are under the age of 20.

You can't just stockpile 5 or 6 superstars and expect them all to stay.

It will help once we get first grade in order... the success/improvement should flow on to the juniors will and players may want to stick around.

I'd say it's the opposite - if you are development club you have to lose some otherwise your not developing enough

I wonder if there was some form of trade? He was contracted for another 3 years. We could definitely have used him to get some 1 off them.

it’s a real shame but if he isn’t in for the crocodile roll he can get stuffed. I hate to say it but we arnt in a position to keep people like this he seems like he wants it all and wants it all now and wants it handed to him 0 love for the club (spoiled brat) once your club is built properly with tough hard workers and you get the results on the field people like him are more willing to put in the hard work and hang around until then we need to fill out squads with people willing to put in the hard yards then people like him will be willing to stay. It sucks but this is what 13 years of failure does.
