Onitoni Large to Manly

Dissapointing to lose however I'm also going to remain sane about it. He clearly see's himself as a 5/8 and his manager threw a public hissy fit about us signing Luai, a proven Premiership/origin wininng half instead of gambling on a kid who hadnt even played a game of SG Ball yet. This reeks of another Sualili/SBW situation. He'll flip flop inbetween codes/clubs his whole career.

Also believe Manly have given him a top 30 deal from next year, which again is pretty nuts for a kid who hasnt even started year 12 yet.

If we lose Makasani I'll join in the pitch fork mob but for now I'm ok.

Without being too negative, we always release players without something in return
Yes we are such a benevolent club. Always giving up players (permanently or temporarily) to help other teams, giving up home ground advantages etc and asking for nothing in return. They say that when you do good you will be rewarded with good things back, but I’ve yet to see that happen for our mob. I guess that philosophy doesn’t work in the rugby league world!

If he is that good he will end up in union no NRL club can match the $$$.

I think that is exactly what's going to happen. League
develop athletetes better than jnr union systems,
I reckon he'll sign a fat contract with ARU in a few years

I know you want the best ..as we all do … but there are questions that haven’t been addressed…

He was under contract … so why not make him stay here one more year until the Galvin issue sorts itself out ? Just because he might not like it … too bad … make him play until it suits us to let him go … that’s what every other team seems to do … also it helps change the perception that the club is a soft touch …

The roster “space” is another issue that other clubs seem to be navigate much easier … why are they waiting to “offload “ players …? Some are on minimal money and can be paid out …
Tommy boy we can only hope there is more to this story that hasn't been released yet.

Surely we cant be that dumb, again, right?

I'd like to think there's more to the story here....
Otherwise yes we are idiots.
Knowing are leadership, manly said can we have large and we said of course u can, we will also throw in a couple of thousand to cover u coming all the way down from manly to ask so nicely, save trip home .
Why do we roll over so easily , I can’t remember us getting anything from releasing players early

In the past we were like that.
Papa is the only one they've done that with recently, which was infact a very stupid decision.
Im remaining hopeful.

Its just a joke , Richo needs to come out and explain why he was released while under contract, so much for a development club and our new culture, its all just bullshit make it up as u go along

Hilarious to think Richo can choose if the kids stay or go.

He can only make offers. It's up to the juniors to accept them.
In this situation he could given Large was contracted. That aside, he may not be able to directly decide if players choose to stay or go but he can be highly influential on their decision. He/Benji have failed to foster an environment where the kid believes our club is the best option for his development. Losing a highly touted player is a concern, whether he has a clear pathway here or not, particular as he has not left for a starting position elsewhere. The fact it has happened shortly after a few other young high profile players have also left, requested to leave or not yet recommitted makes it more concerning.

Again, this just shows he's not wanting to wait and be smart about his career. If he wants to play 5/8, would you want to stay and learn off a 3 time premiership winning one, or Luke Brooks? LOL
He'd have you believe that Brooks is the 3 time premiership winner Lol

There's gotta be an investigation.
