Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Believe Turuva is a Berala Bears junior.
Not sure where the Berala thing came from as I heard them say Berala when he was getting his ring but I was involved with St. Marys for over 20 years and I remember Tito playing there at around 10 as my mate coached that side. I am pretty sure he only played for Saints before being graded at Penrith.

I'll never tire of watching Melbourne players cry.
The GOAT coach was outcoached by Ivan the bus driver last night.
Steve Ghosn would've coached Melbourne to victory.
That coach who sent us spiralling from 9th to last with the way he and Pascoe stuffed our cap and bailed.

I’m still bitter about that and I believe that was the cause of our struggles despite most blaming Maguire and Sheens.

He’s done very well with one club but it should not be forgotten he was sacked by that same club and then stuffed the next club he went to.

I think to squeeze four premierships out of the club in a row with their roster leaking like a sieve, is a pretty fair achievement.

Ivan and Co have made some really good decisions in key areas.

JL has been around for all of this era and he will arrive with a lot of knowledge about their operations and hopefully share some of that with Benji.

Especially the mental side of things. They are brutal.

They are obviously training the house down, they are tough and resilient, next man up is real and they rarely sign a bad apple.

Sure they have natural advantages, but they still have to know how to use that.

Nate has been a massive part of it, but he’s paid a terrible physical price.

At the end of the day, it’s their officials and staff that can take a lot of credit for retaining and recruiting the right players and keeping the footy side of things humming. They’ve been outstanding.

But It can’t last forever, people change.

Believe Api is a Berala junior also, they are cousins maybe he played under 7's or something. They must have grown up there at least for some period and moved elsewhere. Fair few good players came through the bears from memory.

Although the markets apparently had the storm as favourites, I don’t think many people here thought the Panthers would go down wondering.

If they were to lose, it would’ve come down to a few errors, a missed tackle or a ref blunder.

It would never have been because they were actually incapable of winning or that they were over-awed by the occasion.

A lot has been said about their team culture and the depth of friendships.

I’d definitely be asking JL about that aspect of their club.

They came up together, they progressed through the pathways together, they showed the world what they could do…together.
We have a group who potentially could replicate them at some level.
How their development is managed will dictate how successful they are.
So far, I’m not impressed with how we’ve approached this.
