2024 Grand Final

I thought they stuffed up the sound mix, with the music drowning out the vocals. I’m actually not sure if he is good or not lol…
Football stadiums with artists staged in the centre and relying on the stadium's ground announcement PA system mean a terrible mix is pretty much guaranteed for everyone not wearing in-ear monitors (the whole audience).

There's no way of fixing time-alignment issues unlike a 'proper' arena concert with the stage at one 'end' and sound reinforcement all facing the same direction (and the speaker arrays further away from the stage subtly delayed to suit based on physics of the speed of sound).

TV broadcast will just get the mixing desk feed which is the least-worst sounding option - presumably has some crowd noise/ambient 'atmosphere' mics mixed in to prevent it sounding 'weird' and unnatural.

Studio Rat....
Openly admits to using Auto Tune and effects as he want's his shows to be as good as they can be.
Seems popular enough - But those couple songs he had both had fantastic Radio Hooks....
How he is where he is...
Man , most popular music has been polished to a point that the initial music would be unrecognisable.
At least he’s honest about it . Like a DJ . You know they made all thier music using mixing software , and many don’t even mix on the night , but you have to have been living under a rock for the last 40 years to not know what your paying for . At the end of the day it’s all art . And like all art it’s subjective .
In saying that , if I have to hear another kid laroi song again it will be too soon . It’s been on loop in my house since he was promoted on Fortnite . That and Taylor Swift .
Yes I have a daughter haha .

Who is "they"? The NRL, 9 or the general media?
"They" are the people running the NRL and the broadcaster, in this case Ch9. If they combined can't get this type of service provision in place after years developing the bunker tech and TV tech then just get rid of the bunker and make it Ref's Call each time. But hey - don't overthink it greg - Quite simply, we never got to see the vision that the bunker used to make their decision.

They did....
at 2:40
Then why did Ch9 have to explain to viewers that the footage that the bunker saw was different to what we saw? - AFTER the Game! They didn't make their decision on what was shown live. If you reckon that that was conclusive then why did the bunker not award the try based upon that angle? We may never know cos Bunker Mad Monday has arrived and they are all on the drink!

I thought it was more than reasonable for them to rule no try based upon tv footage.
You have to ignore the opinions of the commentators. They are wrong a lot for some reason.

I don't mind him, Wouldn't (And haven't) gone out and bought it....
But since I've been a grown up - I'm able to spot merit and a hook in a song.
And he's got it.

I love that a Sydney kid is out there killing it in the states and elsewhere - Good luck to him.

Outside of any WTs players ..Liam Martin is my favourite player. I know someone who went to school with him. He was was dux of the school, while travelling 1000‘s of KMs to train with Penrith. Unbelievably commitment. Now sores a try
Can't believe his Mother drove him from Temora to Penrith for training or at least that is what I thought.

EDIT: I see that @Tigerwould has mentioned that already.

i agree Butty , but look at Brooksy this year. I dont believe he has done anything with Manly he didnt do with us. But the difference was he has better players around him & frankly when he stuffs up, they all cover for him . Unfortunately at the Tigs, we didnt have the quality around him . Cleary is the the same IMHO. Not a bad player , however doesnt have the ability to change the game like a Johns, Thurston or Lewis.
I present to you, Exhibit A, the 2023 Grand Final.

totally agree, why make a ruling that (footage}none of the real owners of the game .us lol, see.its bs,over the years it has been show'n to be corrupt on many levels, the most humorous unforgivable,is when 10 different views are shown , but the 1 and only shot that proves the try was scored we were told thats not 4 viewing, ruling will be made from previse footage,A lot depends how ref's first rule, lately on the small amount i watch these days, due 2 the bunker,if ref says try it mostly is/no dodgy angles or lack of to smoke screen the game is fair

I have to admit, that first replay they showed looked like a try but only because the paleness of the tryscorer's arm was easy to mistake for the white ball. Skip back and watch it again and you'll see that it was definitely his arm. The NRL showed both angles and it was clear.

Only those who are one-eyed Storm supporters (or Qlders who are Storm supporters by proxy or journalists who are incentivised to create outrage to drive their clicks) will insist it was a bad call because they want to feel ripped off. I get it. Being a Wests Tigers fan has made me scutinise the officiating more than ever the last few years. But there's got to come a time where facts are facts and the fact is that it was great defence that held up that try.

I don't think it is practical for broadcast to show us what the bunker is watching as they watch it.
As I understand it the bunker has multiple people watching multiple screens before the video ref is asked to interpret the best few angles. It would be too chaotic to show on TV and would only slow the process down further if they then had to relay each view that was being reviewed. I'm happy to trust the process.

There is however no excuse that 24hrs later the footage hasn't been released by the NRL. They obviously know it was contentious if they had it ready to show the media and have their own multimedia platform with which they can do so (their website). They also would have had multiple media outlets requesting the footage to show through their own platforms. I could speculate on possible reasons for a delay but none I think are acceptable.

EXCLUSIVE - First image of the Bunker footage showing that the ball didn't reach the ground:

On a serious note why wouldn't they have shown the real footage to the public if they were able to show the footage to the media?
They did. You just had to watch the replay to get it.
Just like all those idiots that watched the replay paused it and claimed the ball hit the ground on one angle but when watching the replay of the same event from a different angle refuse to admit that they mistaken the ball for Howarth’s forearm.
