You can, however paying out 2/3 contracts every year isn’t sustainable. Firstly it still comes off your cap and secondly we aren’t a bulldogs/roosters/souths etc can just hand endless cash over for nothing.

of course it’s not ideal … but there are several players who you would choose to let go before Miller …and these guys are likely earning the minimum Top 30 deal - $135k for 2025 ..

Why can’t you ? Say 3 players at minimum wage , and you know that you have the cap to be able to replace them as well as absorb that 400k . You just pay em out .
The issue is that the players we want to let go are all on 350-0650k , so you can’t absorb 1.5 mil , which is what it would cost , to pay out and replace

Not sure I remember correctly but didn’t we have to up the offer to get him to stay because dolphins were chasing hard. Now Bennett is at the bunnies (😂😂 let’s just wind the rumour up a bit more)
