Anything more than 300k for this donkey is a fraudulent contract.
Let’s take it to the NRL and make them realise our previous management signed a fraudulent contract of double the players true value, therefore don’t make the current management and club supporters suffer in covering any of the shortfall once we offload him.
Sheens must be getting a kickback for getting this ridiculous contract across the line.

The Sea Eagles are in a premiership window and, should they press ahead with their pursuit of Bateman, it would arm them with another weapon in their forward pack.

He showed flashes of his best at the Tigers over the past two years but struggled to find any consistency as the club finished the season with a third successive wooden spoon.

Whispers of a potential move for Bateman have been circulating in England, where he will be a key figure for the national side against Samoa.

Interestingly, the Samoan side is led by Penrith superstar Jarome Luai, who was set to be a teammate of Bateman’s at the Tigers next season.

They may find themselves on opposing teams now as Manly circle Bateman, who may not be the only Tigers player on the move this off-season.

The club has also made it clear that the likes of Jayden Sullivan, Brent Naden and Charlie Staines are free to leave if they can find another home.

Crazy talk...
Will cost us 200k to get rid of him,
200k to replace him with a reserve grader...

Better to pay him 650k and work on getting something out of him.

An ageing uninterested John Bateman will offer nothing more than what Seyfarth, Sukkar or Tumeth could offer.
Seyfarth would be earning about a third of what Bateman is being paid and Sukkar and Tumeth would be earning a sixth of what Bateman is being paid.
No idea why Wests Tigers keep ending up with some of the most overpaid contract in the history of the game.
Sullivan and Klemmer’s contracts are even worse and I don’t mind either of them as players, just they are both getting paid more than double of their true value.

Also can't put a $ amount on squad spots for next year. All the fantasy football is great but reality is that its essential players are moved on before we sign anyone.

the NRL would laugh at us mate. we got played by a manager and a recruitment boss who overpaid. that’s our cross to bear.

what is promising is that it looks as if it’s nearing an end.

You've said some stupid things....

But comparing Bateman to Tumeth - My goodness.
 
Will Turuva be any better for us than what Charlie Staines is ?
I cannot see what Turiva offers or does better than Charlie Staines other than show he’s a good finished on the end of a backline that offers him plenty of try scoring g opportunities.
Staines is taller, faster, just as willing with his hit ups out of the danger zone and just as good under the high ball.
I know Turuva has stats to back up his metres gained per game, but don’t forget that has all been in tandem with one of the best in To’o.
Very hard to see Turuva having the same impact with us, particularly playing alongside a 1-5 which is still 17th best in the NRL.

You could compare Bateman to half the second rowers across the NSW Cul, he adds nothing more than what they can.
Zero tackle busts, zero line breaks, zero forced turnovers and plenty of penalties conceded.

You only read half of my comment....
Nothings - like.... Tumeth are costing close to 200k.

So, Effectively - It's costing 400k to replace Bateman with a Tumeth.
Better to pay Bateman 600k.
Get rid of Tumeth and Matamua.

Don't get me wrong, Bateman is well past his best, and not doing his job....
But paying 200k+ to move him on is half the problem.
Replacing him for the remainder of his contract value is the problem (The biggest part of the Problem)

I don’t think Richo agrees with your theory.
There are no positives in keeping over priced has beens who have a bad attitude.
