Watching NSW vs VIC at the MCG
The thing that stands out is the Quality of the fast bowling
First Starc gets 6-81 in the Vic's 2nd innings then
Bolands first spell against NSW in the 2nd innings reminded me of how he bowled against the Poms at this ground a couple of years ago.
Maddison was caught behind twice in one over but the first was a no ball then in his next over he gets Steve Smith for a DUCK .
Smith scores this match 3 and 0
Konstas who got a rough call in 1st innings is still there on 29*
However NSW 4-63 heading for defeat .
The 2 most inform batters in the country arguably are Alex Carey and Josh Inglis so can house pick both in our test team ?
Nearly all our top batters have failed in these Shield games
Konstas with scores of 152 ,110 ,2 and 29 not hasnt done a lot wrong given the commentators said he got a bad call for the LBW 2

I can't read the article but it seems if selectors call Warner back to the Test side he will accept

No we are not desperate as we have an abundance of talent in our first class ranks
But I hope we don't revert to batsman who have been given a few goes at test level and due to mediocre performance lost their spot on more than one occasion
I'm referring to Bancroft ,Harris and Renshaw
New blood please !
Ps Warner gave great service over many years as an opener but imo his time is done !
It would be a sign of weakness to bring him back imo.We have to look to the future

Well if they do decide to give Konstas a chance they have to stick with him for at least 10 Tests

Bancroft has been shafted since the ball tampering, but he needs to score runs real soon or he will probably never get picked again. The other two have had plenty of chances and I don’t want them anywhere near the test side. All the openers failed this weekend bar Hunts 100 and he ain’t getting picked. Looking forward to the next round.

Yes but he set up the win with a first innings ton. Anyway he’d have to hit half a dozen more to get picked. Disappointing round for the test prospects.

First NSW thrashing Vic at the Junction oval ( this not so crazy )
However NSW broke the record for highest ever score at this ground
Record was 333 (50 overs )
NSW gets 336 off ( 45 overs )
Also note Nathan McSweeny gets 137 for SA ( whole team only 218 )

Siddle got 5/49 in that thrashing.
Webster had a good season last year too from memory so he has some consistency too.
