We want to hear rumors that’s why we’re here.

I appreciate them for posting and I don’t care if they’re 1 day early or 1 day after anything else I hear.

Others who don’t post rumors but just put others down should start a new thread called “not rumors” - see how fun it is over there by yourselves bagging each other.

Yes create a new topic and the baggers can bag in there and leave here for juicy rumours

To be fair- I think most of the 'bagging' has been tongue-in-cheek.

If we can offload Bateman, Frizell would be immense for 2 years. He could lock down our right edge, is a consumate professional in training & effort, provides more experience and IMPORTANTLY would be a barrier for our upcoming backrowers in 21yo Lachlan Broederlow, 20yo Tony Sukkar, 18yo Archie Duncombe & 17yo Pheonix Godinet. He's one of Benji's best mates too.

But at the same time- if he is slower, less effective, injured etc- we are not getting 26 year old Frizell.

You'd be buying in a guy that is the oldest player in the squad from Day 1. Expectations on him should be realistic. I would expect him to play to the best of his ability. But that might not be the dream some have in mind.

Purely guesswork here but reading the tea leaves, these are the outgoings I think will occur over the next few weeks ...

1 Jordan Miller (all the rumours & non-club international acknowledgment too coincidental, to Souths or Dogs)
2 Brandon Tumeth (I reckon he won't take up PO & Moses will find him a spot at the Knights)
3 John Bateman (middle grounnd will be agreed & off to Manly he'll go)
4 Adam Doeuihi (Dragons will offer him a 2 year deal & opportunity to be a backup half)
5 One of Brent Naden, Star To'a or Charlie Staines (if we can't find a suitor for Naden then we'll happily release To'a or Staines on full freight)

That will have us at 26 roster spots out of 30 allowing Sione Fainu to be re-signed, and allow us to target another middle, a backrower and left wing.

Though not entirely happy with it, I would take Rudolf at this point. I would sign thompson for 26 and try and get him early. There are options, even a couple that I don't like.

We are more chance of winning Power Ball than Leo Thompson signing for Wests Tigers when he is wanted by all 17 NRL clubs.

1) Giving away Penalties
2) getting suspended
let’s see how they rank and who cracked the most and cost us the most , I’m not sure who but I’m sure Bateman was as bad as others

Nah. I thought he was poor for a million dollar halfback. He's just fine as a cheapish second fiddle. His play hasn't been better.

Sezer was worst. API second worst. Seyfarth 3rd. Bateman did play a lot less games though…

Not all penalties given away are bad- sometimes giving away a penalty saves a try or even just is worth giving away to slow play down and also where it is on the field and in the tackle count so I never think pure numbers of penalties mean much

I take your point, but..

Those are generally the exception to the rule, rather than a data-affecting regularity.

Penalties conceded is a pretty good measure, among other things, of general, overall discipline.

Yep. Next season out; ….. But maybe?
Got to start shopping now, paperwork after Nov 1.
Agitation; can't keep them all under the cap from other clubs comes into play, homesick, be with family, not enough time on the field, bench or KOE, undervalued by incumbent club, swap deals etc. A myriad of reasons.
Fingers crossed for this year. Early strikes for 2026?

Exactly the same with 6 again calls, I would like to know the percentage of them given on Tackle 1 ?
Like you mentioned teams slow the play down to get there defence set and only give away 1 extra tackle, coach would be screaming at any player that got up quickly on the first tackle and put the defence under pressure.
The introduction of the 6 again rule helps the defensive team when they are in trouble.
IMO a stupid rule
