In the current WTC period England have played 18 tests ( way more than every one else )
They have only won half of them. Lose this one and it will be less than half

NZ lose last 5 wickets for 58 runs today setting India 359 to win
Tough task but they are 1-81 at lunch off 12 overs
Only out is Rohit Sharma who looks totally out of form and looked poor in field also
Early nick went past him before his hands even moved .Twice he didn't go for DRS and both would have shown 3 reds . He is lacking confidence

India doing ok till Yaiswal clearly their most in form batsman gets caught at slip .
That's 10 for the match for Mitchell Santner who looks innocuous ( Aussie batsmen always thought so ).Yaiswal out for a rapid 77 but then Risbabh Pant gets run out for a duck .

I'm now convinced T20 Franchise cricket is damaging real cricket
First some of the IPL highest earners like Rohit ,Kohli ,Jadeja ,Ashwin look really out of form So if you can earn millions for a couple of months it can make the rest of the year seem like its not so important .
Now wanting to enjoy some international cricket during our " summer of cricket "
Well there's not a lot
6 white ball matches vs Pakistan squeezed into two weeks between the 4th and 18th Nov
5 tests vs India 22nd Nov -7th Jan ( NZ knocked a bit of gloss off that) but that's it !
The only chance to see Aussies live in Sydney
One T20 and One test ( often rain affected)
So one lousy 3hour game balance of this year ( i really miss the WSC days)
HOWEVER THE BBL will be bigger than ever ! MEH !
cant get excited about a team made up of players from all over the world representing nothing more than a made up franchise name .
I'm a cricket lover but t20 franchise was invented to appeal to non cricket lovers

Every man and dog is setting up a franchise league, it’s too much.
Yes but what to do ?
Fox love the BBL and BBLW ratings the players love the big pay checks for 2 months work
Note their is No international cricket involving Australia from the 7th Jan till whenever
So they are clearing the calendar for the BBL and all sides are multinational and multi state so who do you support?
To me it would be like watching the NRL with Wests Tigers dumped and as such not overly concerned who wins !

Very hard to get around the Big Bash. Cricket is moving the way of "International Windows" like soccer IMO. There will have to be 2 or 3 protected 4-6 week windows through the year with T20s and Tests are condensed in. Not ideal, but if you want the best players representing their countries it will be the way forward.
