Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Don't be surprised if we see Douihi sign with the Broncos come next year. Source close to Madge said that he gave him a call last week as he has worked under him at the Tigers and Rabbits and is a big fan.
I seem to recall Maguire recruited Doueihi to Souths. This sentence from the article appears to confirm it.

Wests Tigers head coach Michael Maguire said he was looking forward to working again with Doueihi and seeing his career further develop at Concord.

Aren't the Dragons reported to be interested in him?

Yeah paws, apparently. But what Ecto said, if they
lose Hunt they'll probably make a play. Can see Ezra's
contract being torn up, Hunt to Bronx, Doueihi to
Dragons - can see a world where that can happen,
he hasn't been happy at Dragons for years now mate
and we're still hearing stories about him. The other
thing to consider is that they have no cap room so
realistically will have to let go of a big name/juniors

Players return to training at Concord on Monday next week. It will be the top 30 squad minus those playing internationals & those long-serving players (Klemmer, Api, Olam & Twal) & players in finals (Royce Hunt) whilst I think T&T players join in from then too.

I'm sure WT content guys will be supplying images so will be interesting if we see Bud, Naden & AD for obvious reasons & also whether Jack Bird wants to get straight into it with his new team (or whether he is in the long-serving contingent returning a week or so later).
Have seen Jack Bird doing sprint training with Roger Fabri in maroubra over the last few weeks. So doing extras early.

If Mam goes Madge might go for Douehi instead of Hunt. 8 years younger and would cost a lot less.

New deals for Faataape and Porter

Wests Tigers is pleased to confirm contract extensions for Reuben Porter and Solomona Faataape.

Both players have signed development contracts for the 2025 season after making their NRL debuts with Wests Tigers in 2024.

Faataape joined the club on a development contract from Queensland Cup team, Brisbane Tigers, ahead of the 2024 season. The 23-year-old centre scored six tries from 17 appearances in his first season in the NRL.

After playing eight seasons in reserve grade, Porter earned his first start in the NRL in Round 14 against the Dragons.

The 27-year-old forward made eight appearances in his first season in the top grade, six of which were in the starting side.

Wests Magpies juniors Heath Mason and Will Craig both move onto development contracts as part of their progression plan at Wests Tigers.

Alex Lobb is also on a development contract, for the second year in a row, after joining the club last season.

The sixth development spot will be allocated to recently signed teenager, Heamasi Makasini. That will happen when the exciting young centre turns 18 years of age in July next year.

Wests Tigers’ wider playing squad will begin pre-season training on Monday 4th November.
