Bronco could be 'last piece of the puzzle' for Tigers
One name to monitor this week is Broncos forward Kobe Hetherington, with news the Wests Tigers continue to circle the 25-year-old, who officially became a free agent on Friday.Hetherington is contracted until the end of 2025 but a report earlier in the week claimed five teams were interested in his services after he was given permission to negotiate with other clubs.
New Broncos coach Michael Maguire was quick to try convince Hetherington to stay put, but it sounds like his future may be elsewhere as he looks for a starting role in the NRL.
According to News Corp's Brent Read, the Tigers think Hetherington may be "the last piece of the puzzle" and could know by next week if he will be off to the joint venture as soon as 2025.
"The Tigers have been obviously chasing him pretty hard for next year... he’s sort of the last piece of the puzzle," Brent Read said on Triple M.
"They've had discussions. His manager is actually going to Brisbane next week to meet with Michael Maguire... the Tigers should have an answer on Kobe Hetherington at some point next week on whether he'll join them for the upcoming season."
Tigers star linked to Dragons after Hunt release
Tigers star Adam Doueihi is reportedly being linked to a move to the Dragons after Ben Hunt's release.
That would likely mean Kyle Flanagan shifts to halfback with Doueihi slotting in at five-eighth.
The Daily Telegraph's Michael Carayannis revealed the update on Doueihi's future on SEN radio.
“It’s not a done deal yet,” Carayannis said on Doueihi’s rumoured move to the Dragons.
“With everything that has happened with Hunt, the Dragons will take a moment now just to scour the open market.
“The name’s that have been linked are Lachlan Ilias and Doueihi. Those are the names that are at the top of the list for 2025.
“For 2026 and beyond, Daniel Atkinson from the Cronulla Sharks is at the top of the list for the Dragons.”

given we’ve lost a stack of halves (Isdale, Large, Black) we’ve had to recruit.
Sonny Edwards-Moecke will likely play 5/8, but we’ve got a stack of guys trialling over the summer. Valesini is one of them, and there’s a couple others below.

We're just going to magically get better lol....Its going to take a few years and a lot of hard work and luck
That's what you'll notice about the Panthers: they brought through all those fantastic players like Cleary and Yeo, then they decided enough was enough on the prospects and not to bother having any more. That's why they won that one premiership then faded away when players started moving on - there wasn't anyone coming through to fill the gaps.

I mean we’ve signed all of these players and better would be anything that’s not dead last so the few years argument doesn’t really work. If that team plus potentially Hethrington finishes last again, well I don’t think I have to continue

Yes we require more talent, thats not a debate. The last piece to the puzzle of returning to finals football however, lies within the coaching setup.

Meanwhile in Brisbane players are vomiting in between sessions.
Look, it's impossible to judge what they're doing from a few photos, but I do hope when they have the bulk of the squad together that they focus on strength and conditioning. I don't want to see Galvin smashing everyone in every fitness drill.

I'd say next week some of the 3rd to 5th year players will return who didn't play internationals like Staines, To'a, Pole & Sullivan. So next week could paint an interesting picture!!!
