It's very easy to tell apart the players that grew up with footy in their hands as opposed to bigger than average kids that fell into the game. The Fainu bros all seem to fall into the former camp, some of the skills Samuela displayed last year were amazing.
He had no cap space to attract players. The first year he did he signed Api and Papali'i, both players who had played under him previously and neither were paid well above market value to get them here. We've never before or since have a coach do that.

Yes May is superior stat wise in every way.
Melbourne, Easts, Cronulla are all thinking Culture and team fit.
May is inferior to Twal in that way which keeps people looking for a different club.
We need forward replacements. The time to sign a player like May is when you have an injury but expect to be in the top 4.
If he can't cope with Easts coming 4th and is making enough trouble that they want to punt him (and they have heaps of players leaving , so the cap space is there). Take the hint.
Let Madge, Bennett or Bellamy sign him. They will be able to manage him and throw him out if he does stupid stuff. Todd Payten may be able to handle him, Benji is still a rookie coach and can't handle Bateman.
Look great player, not a great fit for our team with a Rookie coach.

If Richo and Benji feel he's turned a corner with that though, then bring it on.

Cmon Jason Taylor was going to do that. He would have resigned the Big 4 till the boardroom destroyed it all *sic*.
We all talk about giving Madge 5 years, why not give Taylor a 3rd? Plus if it doesn't work, the new coach will be able to choose his entire team...
Truth is Madge choose Roberts and BJ. Neither worked and Roberts went from SOO level to barely first grade.
At some point we need tougher love. Holding onto Madge as he coaches Brisvegas is nuts.
Seriously the missed opportunity was Shane Flanagan. He has taken St George from bottom to almost making the 8 with a worse roster then ours. Had we brought Flanno in we would have seen him take over instead of Brett K.

I find it hard to believe we wouldn't give him an upgrade of $500k on each of his two remaining seasons. If he doesn't take that, he's as good as gone.
Roberts was not playing at SOO level before he came here,at his best he was but that was in the past.No other club was after him which is why we got him cheap as we had no cap to get anybody decent.BJ would have only came because his brother was here.It was Cleary's crazy deals plus ineptitude at management level which destroyed our cap for years.
As for Taylor he destroyed any harmony within our club.

What rubbish. Roosters, Sharks & Storm all have major party animals on their rosters… Sharks and Roosters just resigned a chunk of them.
Maybe May asked for a release rather than the Roosters saying go get stuffed. Maybe the Roosters let him go - either way who cares really. As if we don’t have party animals in the squad already. Re the Roosters with Smith, Spencer, Crichton and a few others 100% know off field culture isn’t a focus at the Roosters.
May played 29 games (Roosters and Samoa) for a prop this season, played hard as well - like cmon it’s clear May wants to play footy & got his head right re gametime & training. We would be dumb not to show serious interest in him.

I think they'll upgrade him if he commits to an extension. If he's going to leave and not commit, why would we park money in that contract when we can shuffle it elsewhere?
That would be a lot of good will placed in a player that has no obligation to return the favour.
He's also only played 1 season. I don't think it's unfair to see that he can back it up for the next 2 seasons before going in as hard as you say.
We also need to win some games to show we are a club that is past our issues. Results will play a huge factor.

The is argument is a load of shit . Ice came for the money , and wanted to back out , even when Madge was still the coach . He really wanted out when the season fell into a heap under Kimmorley .
Some serious re- writing of history going on right here . To imply that Madge had nothing to work with his whole time here is absolute dogshit . He signed Maumalo , he signed Leilua , (neither were cheap ) , Musgrove was being paid for potential …. This Madge circle jerk going on ….. LOL .

Would be the best Winger at the club if he joined next year

Don't you think it's dependent on the contract that's signed as to whether it would be considered a good signing?
For example, I'm no fan of Bateman, but at the right price I'm ok with it.

It would need to be cheap.
No more than Skelton who is young and hopefully getting better, and JAC is old and definitely getting worse.
Gee if u went throw must players , u would not sign many , So u would be happen him going to the dogs , the dragons, raiders and make them stronger , but we stay at the bottom because u THINK he has a bad attitude , if the NRL will register them then we should sign them
