Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

In Taylans Q&A he went into detail how they come from poverty, living in housing commission, etc etc.... and this is how he plans to take care of his family through his career.

Now he's stood down, contract torn up, facing court.

Life changing chance for these lads.
If they don't want it, there's many others who do.

Can't put in what god left out man....
Some of these lads are just far too stupid.

I'm on record saying it around the same time last
year, but I think To'a has a really good opportunity
to come into '25 fresh & fit. Last season was full of
injuries and disruptions but there is a good player
in there & Faataape isn't the answer med-long term

I don’t mind Terrell May either, but I think his stats are inflated by playing alongside some top quality team mates, not so sure he’d be as effective if playing for Wests Tigers.
He was largely ineffective playing for Samoa, that’s a concern.

You would think his work effort & impact at the Roosters would’ve been less not anywhere as high as it was. This year they were stacked in the forwards. Minutes where limited but he demanded more time and even started over Spencer towards the back of the season - Robbo doesn’t do that easily.

Re Samoa meh it’s end of season, he had 4-6 weeks off between games and most players are having downers. The guy played 27 nrl games most at high standard & nearly double previous years - that gets my focus over Samoa game.

Also he made 144m (57 post contact), 43 tackles and has 6 tackle breaks in the 1st Samoa game - that’s not ineffective. We would dream of our front rowers doing that

And in the 2nd 105m, 6 tackle breaks, 4 offloads and 35 tackles

Wonder how long it will be before there is a shoot out at the O.K. Corral.
Seems to be the theme with him, he will thrash his squad for 5 years then they're all tapped out. You get him in hoping you can win something in that time or move him on. I'm interested to see if he signs any big name players, that was always the media's knock on him that he couldn't attract any big names to the Tigers, I'm really interested to see if it was just us or him aswell.

Madge got Api and Paps to us when he finally had a cap to use and work with, the main problem was always the duds that Cleary left with us on long overpaid contracts.

absolutely elite ballplaying from a man who has no right to have a pass like that in his wheelhouse.

we desperately need a player of his quality in the middle.
It's very easy to tell apart the players that grew up with footy in their hands as opposed to bigger than average kids that fell into the game. The Fainu bros all seem to fall into the former camp, some of the skills Samuela displayed last year were amazing.

He had no cap space to attract players. The first year he did he signed Api and Papali'i, both players who had played under him previously and neither were paid well above market value to get them here. We've never before or since have a coach do that.

I know at times we haven’t agreed on thoughts of players but May is already miles ahead of Twal. He averaged 110mtrs & 97.75% tackle effectivness mostly off the bench this year in a packed forward rotation. He is a workhorse but a big body quality one that has size and some speed. Add in offloads and some try scoring as well. He had a career jump season that Twal could only dream of.

If May is an option we would be bonkers not putting our hat in the ring for the right price.

I like Twal and want to keep him but May is far superior player of the 2 now.

Yes May is superior stat wise in every way.

Melbourne, Easts, Cronulla are all thinking Culture and team fit.

May is inferior to Twal in that way which keeps people looking for a different club.
We need forward replacements. The time to sign a player like May is when you have an injury but expect to be in the top 4.

If he can't cope with Easts coming 4th and is making enough trouble that they want to punt him (and they have heaps of players leaving , so the cap space is there). Take the hint.

Let Madge, Bennett or Bellamy sign him. They will be able to manage him and throw him out if he does stupid stuff. Todd Payten may be able to handle him, Benji is still a rookie coach and can't handle Bateman.

Look great player, not a great fit for our team with a Rookie coach.
