They granted him a release and he signed with us for more than the Roosters are paying him, so we cover the full contract.

He's a middle with great footwork and a good passing game, meaning he's a double threat in transition and his first up contact is very strong.

He's every bit a modern lock, even if his conditioning and work around the ruck needs improvement.

The Sydney Roosters have today announced that Terrell May has been granted a release from his contract to enable him to pursue an opportunity at another NRL Club.

i believe our offer was
675 / 750 / 750 from listening to a few pod casts over the weekend

Generally a club tops up money if the player is on more cap then his market dictates. I have no doubt we would be paying him the full 650k or whatever and roosters will clear the full $450k. In reverse as a hypothetical Batemans market value might be $450 /$500k so we may have to kick in the money that is the difference between his contract with us and his new contract with another club if we want a deal done. Alternatively in some rare cases a player may elect to walk away from a contract and sign a lesser contract with the hope he’ll make up the the difference in future years (A Woods to Sharks).
