It means he’s paranoid.
They asked ‘famous’ person.
He could have answered with countless rugby league legends… but the Blue Wiggle is known by 100’s of millions of people.
That’s real fame.
MM’s problem is he originally followed Balmain.
Surprised he didn’t say Hagipentelis. He’s very relevant.

??????????

Is this the way it's going?

Wiggles, Anthony Field?

Weird he'd mention that.

Couldn't imagine Shane watching the Wiggles for fun.

Benny's consortium would be disappointed.
You’d think Rusty would be in there?
I know the wiggles are pretty rich and famous but Rusty is the Gladiator?

Silly post.

Never heard of Anthony Field till recently and only remotely knew about the Wiggles.

The problem with this guy is he has advocated for a return of Balmain.

Is that your stance?

Yeah it was likely an innocent comment & probably true given how big the Wiggles are

Might be so however it's hardly prudent for a CEO of an entity to be speaking in positive terms of someone who had publicly advocated for the dismantling of a club contrary to the interests of the owners for whom he is employed.

Perhaps even worse than unprovident.

What ? Then that’s a you issue . Anybody who has grown up since 1990 has known who the blue wiggle was . From the time Power rangers were a thing until now . And that’s worldwide .
They’ve been the number 1 in the children’s game for 40 years , and now are probably a bit lower as Bluey ( also created by an ex Aussie music legend in the lead singer of Custard ) have taken over .
I don’t believe you at all .

Care little of his fame but more power to him.

Are you fine with him advocating for a return of Balmain?

Recall you and others previously posting that nobody cares for Balmain.

Obviously, Balmain is very important to him, so at least he cares.

What about you?

Seriously . I know HBG have the money , but I swear this is your real fear . And it’s obvious . Deep down you think , that if the Balmain side ever got thier money in order , they’d buy out wests and get rid of the magpies forever , because that’s where most of the fans are ? That’s my take on your agenda I think . It’s no secret that the “tigers” part of the merger is the one that most fans are aligned too . I mean purely for commercial reasons it’s obvious. Plus the history leading into the merger prior to 2000 was rich with “tigers” zeitgeist . Siro , back door , blocker etc .
But here’s the thing … no one gives a shit about Balmain anymore . My kids done even know where the suburb is . Even people in Balmain don’t give a shit about the Balmain tigers .
But the team they do care about is wests tigers .
The blue wiggle isn’t buying the wests tigers to turn them into Balmain . So just chill out with dribble .

He’s just a guy who has very close allegiance to Balmain and as such talks about it in a way that’s close to his heart . Because I don’t think commercially he’d even thought about how it would affect wests tigers as a club … because , why should he check his words . He’s not affiliated . Anymore than you are .
I’m sure if he got his hands on the figures and commercial reality as a business model he would see , how unviable and unprofitable “Balmain” is. That trademark doesn’t evoke anything to anyone under the age of 40 .
So I couldn’t give a shit what the blue wiggle thinks . And if he buys the Balmain tigers , to have influence in a board meeting of wests tigers . Cool bro ! It’s 1 seat !!!!! . Good luck with that . And if he doesn’t have this agenda , and the HBG sell the club to them , well that would be thier mistake , as they would be the ones pissing down the drain the magpies legacy . Not the blue wiggle !

Besides I grew up with real shows like On the buses and The Benny Hill show.

We may have had similar tastes.😉

What ? You just referenced something that’s imbedded in Australian culture ie. the big red car . Why ? Because anyone from 35 under , maybe even 40 , spent thier early childhood on this stuff . And so have thier kids and grand kids in some cases .
It’s soo annoying to converse with people like you . I’ve got an uncle who’s exactly the same , completely incapable of having anything remotely like a healthy discussion , namely because they’re not looking for the best idea wins , they’re looking for validation of thier own ideas .

Heres the thing though amongst the generation just above mine so 45-60 year olds ,Who are in the age bracket of someone who would have enough funds and old enough to not give a shit about the fact a sports club is dead money . Ie. the people who would buy a club .
The perception from what I can tell is IMO wrongly just for clarity but anyways , the perception is that the magpies have always been and continue to be , run by morons . So is the wests tigers .
Which is revisionist history anyway , because Balmain had 12 years as one of the best teams from 1979 through to 91 , and never once thought about a succession plan once thier golden generation retired . So the people running that club torpedoed the club to a spoon when they all did .
Imagine thinking hiring Alan jones , was a good idea . I mean I guess it is , if you want someone to invest in your cafe business in the mid 90s , but not to run a football club . Anyways I digress ….
It’s not how most fans see the tigers anymore . I know it’s hard for you older guys to see it , but most people going to games and buying merch are not your generation my guy.
And those people , like my kids , ask me when I walk around the house in my old Phillips tigers jersey , who’s Phillip ? And who’s Balmain ?
And there’s no way a good business man like the blue wiggle would not see that .
But here’s the thing right ? And I need you to actually read this bit and not look for confirmation of any ideas you have … so here goes ….
If HBG continue to run this club into the ground -so HBG =wests ;
The nrl will either not renew the license (unlikely because that’s the way the business model is of the nrl . So the clubs are apart of the ownership model) , but more likely ;
The nrl will request the owners of the wests tigers to sell Ala. the owners of US brands like the Phoenix suns , or LA clippers , or Washington Redskins (WFC) , or Cleveland Indians / Guardians , or Montreal Expos .
That’s what happens to shit clubs being run by morons . They’re eventually forced to sell .
So its basically now in the hands of Julie Romero , and her stooges . She either is intelligent enough to understand the way a massive billion dollar business like the nrl runs , or she isn’t . And like I said in the hypothetical day that the HBG did sell to the blue wiggle , and he did go back to Balmain or Sydney or something , than guys like you only have the HBG group to blame . It’s not the blue wiggle . And it’s certainly not most of the fan base .
This is a historic opportunity for this club to reset . Because the tigers brand will continue in the nrl . Whether it’s Perth , Sydney , wests (it will never be Balmain IMO) . It’s up to the HBG to secure the wests legacy . Because it’s worth saving in most peoples opinions mate .
