Pretty sure they got Brydens covered.

Over 1 Billion dollars turn over & over 100 million net worth...L
They make >$100m per year in profit!!!

Their shares / company in total is worth $600m.

They fit. A lot of their business is lending to people in a financial crocodile roll who need help to consolidate debt. A lot of these people would be in our catchment base.

If true, and if the sponsorship value is high enough, this would be brilliant.

The downside/ risk is that high risk lenders do struggle if the economy gets into strife. They would likely need to cut costs heavily in those periods.

I’m aware who they are and their reasoning for wanting to sponsor a team to raise their profile so others do as well (without having to Google them).
Simply would prefer an established company showing they believe in our brand being an extension of their own success.

To see - You'd only need to look....

What is it with you blokes?
Just because someone works for Rich / Strong Club - It doesn't mean they're incompetent!!

In Robbo's first year as a Top Tier Head Coach he took Catalans from the Spoon to 6th.
The Spoon!!

Here's a couple snippets from his time in Lower Grades at Toulouse in his mid/late 20's
(Almost 10 years before he coached at the Roosters)

“When I first started coaching, I was interviewed and asked who the best coach was I played under, and I said, Robbo. They said, ‘But he only coached you for one year, so why?’ I said, ‘I loved playing for him’.

“He took us to the semi-final [of the Challenge Cup in 2005; the first French side to reach that stage]. He was only here the one year, but he was one of the best coaches we have had.”

Remember the 2010 Roosters side.... the one that beat us to a shot at the title?
Ask any of them weather it was Brian Smith or Trent Robinson (His Assistant) that made that side?
Although Robbo leaving a the end of 2010 and the Roosters sliding from runners up to
11th might point you in the right direction there as well.

the man knows his sh*t, is in the top 3 coaches in the game...
If he were here, We'd all be chuffed!!
I recall "unkle Nick" saying that Robbo when he walked into Easts it was like he owned the place (in a good way). 2010 from memory that was the Fittler year where they went from Spoon to almost making the finals?

As for is Robbo a "top 3 coach". The problem is the top 2 are:
Craig Bellamy
Wayne Bennett.

Des Haslier won't be top 3 for 2024, but I could see him coming back. Robbo making the finals with the team he had, is a fair-ish claim. in a few years I suspect Craig Fitzgibbon will be a top 3-5 coach. ...

2025 will prove it for me. Easts are going to face a rebuild in many areas. However I can say top 5 coach definately.

Robbo can claim to be a top 5 coach.

The top three imo

1. Ivan Cleary
2. Craig Bellmay
3. Wayne Bennett

All are great but Cleary has overseen premiership domination. Also while I admire what Bellamy has done, there is that little matter at the Storm.

It would be great to be having this sort of conversation about Benji in 10 years time! I think 2025 will either make or break Benji as a coach.
I'm not of the opinion that we need to make the 8 in 25 for Benji to survive but I do believe we need to see vast improvement over the last season for Richo to keep him on. Where that improvement leads on the ladder I'm not too sure. I'm pretty confident we will see the improvement, between the roster upgrades and hard no nonsense approach to training and conditioning it should make a vast improvement over the last 3 years.

Sea Eagles reject Bateman

Manly were keen to add English international John Bateman to their ranks - especially as the Tigers were happy to pay a big slice of his wages.

But ultimately his age - Bateman turned 31 recently - counted against the busy second-rower.

The Sea Eagles are building a good young squad and would have had to cut one of their promising up-and-comers to accommodate a player nearing the end of his career.

It's not all over for Bateman though - his management has at least one other NRL club keen on his services.

Fox Sports guess work:

TIGERS

Contract limbo
: Adam Doueihi, Jayden Sullivan

Analysis: The arrival of Jarome Luai to play halfback and the emergence of five-eighth Lachlan Galvin has made halves Jayden Sullivan and Adam Doueihi surplus to requirements at the Tigers.

Latu Fainu will likely be the bench utility and will provide halves back-up with veteran Aidan Sezer. Doueihi is off-contract in 2025 and was free to negotiate with rivals from November 1.

The Dragons were reportedly interested in his services, but have since signed Lachlan Ilias to replace Ben Hunt. Doueihi will likely play centre for the Tigers in 2025, but covets a halves position and will have to find a new club to play there.

The Knights could be a good fit for Doueihi, given he can be a running five-eighth outside Jack Cogger or Phoenix Crossland and give Newcastle a new edge in attack, while the Dolphins could also use a bigger body at No.6. Sullivan is out of favour at the Tigers, but with three years left on his deal, it is proving difficult to move him on.

The Dragons blocked a return for Sullivan, despite the Tigers being willing to chip in $300k for each of the three remaining years on his deal.

The Titans are in need of a halfback when Kieran Foran retires and while they have a lot of options at five-eighth, Sullivan could slot in at No.7 when he hangs up the boots, especially if the Tigers pay a large chunk of his salary.

The Titans let Tanah Boyd leave to join the Warriors, so they need a halfback to bolster their depth in the position badly.

Guess work?
They don’t even know our current roster.
“will provide halves back-up with veteran Aidan Sezer”

I don’t hate it. Established in 2000 so there is a bit of synergy being on the same timeline as when the Wests Tigers first season commenced.
I hope we don’t have to accommodate the white background though. That would look puss!

So they can’t give Bud away even paying $300k of his $500-550k wage?

Surprised that no club would take a chance on him at $200-250k a year … this would be the norm for a reserve grade half wouldn’t it ? maybe the three years left on his deal is the real problem, and that he is not viewed as even NRL player depth level ..

Looks like they are going to be stuck with him at least another year …

Excluding some of the medical failures they have signed …This deal might actually be the worst in WT history …

I personally think Robbo is a very good coach. The trouble is because he is at a club that is full of talent the expectations are far greater. Cleary is a great coach but he walked into a team with a superstar no7 and half a dozen very very good players. Bellyache has had a world class spine since day one. Uncle Wayne is probably the one you take your hat off to as he has moved from club to club, roster to roster and maintained a high level of success.

To me the real champion coaches are the ones who changed the way to play the game and forced other teams to follow. Jack Gibson and Wok Ryan are two who come to mind.

Anyway the bottom line, footballers need good coaches and good coaches need good footballers
